Role Purpose/Business Unit:

 

End-to-end Operations, Maintenance and Restoration of the Vodacom National network which include services such as both active (RAN, TX and VB-links) through collaborations with Vodafone regional maintenance specialists, regional FFO Supplier management, Field Engineers and the different NOCs (Vodacom network, VB and Security). Ensure governance controls are in place in terms of daily and weekly, operational meetings, operational reporting and SLA management (volume and quality KPIs). Management and correct allocation of in-scope and out-of-scope work with the FFO Supplier and the Vodacom ASPs. The management of the maintenance budget and processing of quotes while ensuring that related documentation is processed and invoiced in a timeous manner, to ensure maintenance payments are done on time.

Your responsibilities will include:

 

•    Schedule and monitor maintenance program on Vodafone network and 3rd Party Co-located sites (Tango & Rain).
•    Maintain optimal performance of the Vodafone and 3rd Party (Tango & Rain) radio network.
•    Perform daily checks on regional network performance and attend to any degradation on network availability.
•    Monitoring and managing the quality of service of all FFO deliverables across regions.
•    Drive efficiencies and ensure regional standardisation. Responsible for execution on continuous improvement initiatives. 
•    Maintenance of all records for future reference purposes 
•    Escalation of all relevant issues to all effected role-players
•    Ensure accurate quotations for all maintenance work.
•    To ensure that quotations are properly approved and signed. Checking, processing and general administration of all maintenance quotations and claims.
•    To ensure that changes in price book and catalogue is integrated and used by all suppliers. This will be done by liaising with Regional Maintenance Specialist from all regions, SCM and obtaining the necessary documentation.
•    Submit monthly report on all POs and spending per region
•    Monitor spending per region

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

 

•    Must have technical / professional qualifications: 
•    3yr Degree/National Diploma (Electrical engineering, computer science – or relevant qualification)
•    3 - 5 years relevant experience


Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:
•    Understanding of GSM / UMTS / LTE principles
•    Radio environment knowledge (RF)
•    Exposure to IP fundamentals
•    Huawei Equipment Knowledge preferable
•    Finance (basic principles)  
•    Policies & Procedures  
•    A minimum of 2 years telecommunication experience (Essential)  
•    1-2 years contract management experience
