Location: Location Independent but within commutable distance to Farnborough, Bristol and Newbury.
Salary: Excellent basic salary plus bonus and Vodafone benefits
Working Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday

 

As a Location Independent Worker, for operational reasons you may be required to perform your duties, either temporarily or permanently, from any of Vodafone’s UK offices or customer sites within a reasonable geographic area of your home address. Our “Office in a Box” home working kit will provide you with everything you need, no matter where you are.

What you’ll do

 

  • We are looking for a Bid Manager to drive growth within Vodafone Business Security Enhanced.  The role of the Bid Manager resides within the Commercial Contract team and is responsible for: managing bids for VBSE’s customers; setting the win strategy; managing virtual bid teams across various functions across VBSE and Vodafone Business. 
  • The Bid Manager will create and drive bid plans across all stages of the bid from RFI/proactive proposal through to contract negotiations. They will need to ensure all governance is completed for the bid at the relevant stages.  
  • This highly diverse and rewarding role will see you join a highly successful, collaborative team that are driving continued growth.  
     

You will:

 

  • Manage the end-to-end bid process, from initial identification of a customer requirement through to contract renewal strategy. 
  • Assemble and manage a bid team with the skills to prepare and submit a winning bid. 
  • Coordinate and prepare high-quality responses to tender documents. 
  • Ensure all bids submitted meet customer requirements and adhere to company standards. 
  • Lead bid strategy meetings and review competitive information. 
  • Develop and maintain a knowledge library of business-specific bid response content. 
  • Present bids to clients and stakeholders. 
  • Track and manage bid outcomes and provide feedback to the team. 
  • Manage post-bid reviews to identify areas for improvement 
  • Risk management –ensuring all risks are understood, mitigated or accepted by the appropriate stakeholders through a RAID 
  • Attend Key Customer meetings and workshops and build engagement with customers to support their needs and maximise the value Vodafone can bring them.  

 

Who you are  

 

You will have:

 

  • Proven experience as a Bid Manager or similar role in sales. 
  • Strong understanding of sales strategies and market trends. 
  • A proven ability in delivering winning, high-value product or services opportunities. 
  • Familiarity with the legislation around the use of AI and relaying critical information and updates to the bid team. 
  • A solid understanding and management of internal governance procedures. 
  • Excellent communication skills and comfortable working at CEO/Director Level (internal and external customer). 
  • Strong decision making – ability to balance conflicting priorities and strong, individual personalities 
  • Strategic thinking and analytical skills  
  • Experience in the secure sector 
  • Eligibility for DV Clearance  
  • Knowledge of Network and Communication systems is desirable. 
  • Marketing experience desirable to help with presentations & responses 
  • Experience in stakeholder management at C-Suite
