What you’ll do
Drive cost optimization, financial accountability, capacity planning, and operational efficiency across cloud and technology platforms, ensuring services remain reliable, scalable, and aligned with business objectives.
Key Accountabilities:
- Establish and maintain cloud cost management practices across AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI, and private cloud environments.
- Monitor technology and cloud spending, identifying optimization and cost-saving opportunities.
- Develop and enforce tagging and cost allocation standards to ensure accurate financial visibility and accountability.
- Implement and manage chargeback/showback models across business and technology domains.
- Ensure compliance with Vodafone Group cloud governance, security, and financial management standards.
- Track actual spending against approved budgets and forecasts, highlighting risks and variances.
- Produce executive-level dashboards and reports on cloud consumption, capacity utilization, financial performance, and achieved savings.
- Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Architecture teams to drive capacity planning and resource optimization.
- Analyze infrastructure utilization trends and recommend scaling, consolidation, or optimization actions.
- Support business case development for cloud investments and transformation initiatives.
- Identify and manage financial risks related to cloud consumption and technology services.
- Collaborate with vendors and procurement teams to optimize licensing, contracts, and cloud commitments.
- Drive FinOps best practices and increase cost awareness across technology teams.
- Support Lifecycle Management (LCM) planning by aligning infrastructure investment decisions with business and operational priorities.
- Act as the primary liaison between Finance, Cloud Engineering, Architecture, Procurement, and Operations teams.
Who you are
- 4+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering or Infrastructure Engineering
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, GCP, and OCI.
- Strong knowledge of FinOps principles, methodologies, and cost optimization frameworks.
- Experience with cloud cost management tools such as Azure Cost Management and AWS Cost Explorer.
- Understanding capacity management, forecasting, and infrastructure utilization analysis.
- Experience working within governance, risk, and compliance frameworks.
- Strong analytical skills and reporting tools.
- Ability to translate technical consumption metrics into financial insights and business recommendations
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including Finance, Engineering, Architecture and Operations.
