What you’ll do

Participate in a wide range of engineering activities related to planning, design, engineering and implementation of the subscriber repository nodes (HLR/HSS/CSDB/EIR/UDM/UDR) including network and services design, planning and budgeting, roadmap development, business case assessment, integration and testing of new nodes and new functionalities, in line with Vodafone Technology Networks recommendations, local market business needs and regional priorities and strategy. 

More specifically the responsibilities include: 

  • Detailed design of the technical solutions (Low Level Design) impacting the platforms in scope. 
  • The delivery of the infrastructure that meets the requirements of Vodafone customers, business units and operations units, including technical management of the platform vendor throughout the process.  
  • Providing support to the product and solution design during the feasibility phase (HLD), where the accountability for the end-to-end technical design is elsewhere (e.g. CPS, EPS, 5G, CoE) 
  • Monitoring the capacity of the platforms in scope and plan/trigger expansion decisions when additional capacity is needed. 
  • Working together with the Network Architecture team on the evolution and roadmap of the platform, influencing the vendor design in terms of cost, efficiency, reliability, scalability, ease of operation, etc. 
  • Delivering the 5GSA requirements in CDR domain after proper alignment with all stakeholders 
  • Driving the evolution of the platforms in scope towards the Cloud Native acrhitecture. 

Who you are

  • 2-3 years experience in engineering activities within Vodafone or other operator  
  • Deep knowledge of Mobile and data signalling topology, interfaces and protocols 
  • Engineering knowledge in Voice Core domain 2G/3G/EPC/IMS/5GSA architecture and relevant protocols (IP, MAP, SS7, Diameter, SBI, etc) 
  • Proven deep technical skills in the CSDB architecture, including the Database part and the Front- End Application nodes 
  • Proven experience and attitude to work in multinational and multicultural teams in a complex large company and matrix environments 
  • Basic understanding of the Cloud Native architecture and functions 
  • Degree in electrical / electronic / telecommunications, Software, Computer engineering 
  • Good degree of autonomy and ability to self-start on complex deliverables in ambiguous situations 
  • Problem solving and process improvement skills with the ability to implement tactical and strategic solutions as appropriate 
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to explain, enlighten, educate and above all engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation. 
  • English skills (very good technical written and verbal communication) 
  • Can-do approach and flexibility to manage customer requests
