What you’ll do

As a Data Chapter Lead you will be the Product Owner of Skills Development, and you will build expertise and develop chapter members. You will transfer knowledge to others, provide coaching and oversee personal development. You will lead a chapter community.  

 

More specifically you will:  

  • Guide a community of Experts that are working within squads / scrum teams 
  • Work with the Tribe and Tech Lead to provide workforce plans for recruitment and development 
  • Organize interactions between the members of the chapter to nurture best practice and encourage knowledge & tool sharing 
  • Act as a servant leader, rather than a line manager, aiming at maturing the organisation readiness, vs controlling the work 
  • Provide guidance and harmonization of chapter best-practices (Chapter principles) 
  • Contribute, as member of an agile team, in the research, analysis, design development and testing of solutions that best suit business and technology strategy 
  • Work as part of a team and develop data pipelines in the Google Cloud Platform 
  • Ensure technical integrity and quality control consistency throughout the development life cycle

Who you are

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or other related field   
  • At least 4-5 years of experience in designing and developing infrastructure for large/medium scale migration efforts to GCP or other cloud platforms (i.e. Azure) 
  • Experience in Coaching/ Mentoring others for at least 2-3 years, with a proven track record as Expert in the Data domain 
  • Hands on experience in migrating on premise ETLs to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using tools such as Pub/Sub,C loud Data Proc, Google Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Big Query 
  • Solid experience of Data streaming technologies (Kafka, Spark Streaming) 
  • Profound knowledge of Data Infrastructure and Database Systems (RDBMS/NoSQL) 
  • Common SDLC, including SCM, build tools, unit, integration, functional and performance testing from automation perspective, TDD/BDD, CI and continuous delivery 
  • Strong problem-solving and design thinking skills, with the ability to generate innovative solutions and think outside the box 
  • Expertise in analysing complex problems, understanding requirements, and developing effective solutions 
  • Collaborative mindset, experienced in working within chapters, sharing responsibility, and encouraging innovation 
  • Thrives in fast-paced, agile teams, promoting communication, team spirit, and continuous learning 
  • Ability to evaluate, lead and adapt to change, shifting demands in different situations 
  • Proactive in adopting best practices and driving innovation, with strong facilitation and training skills to effectively achieve group objectives 
  • Passionate for personal and functional development, supporting others to reach their full potential 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in both Greek & English and with both technical and business audiences
