Vodafone Innovus, founded in 2004 in Athens, Greece is an ΙοΤ Applications Provider, pioneer in the ΙοΤ Cloud Services field, providing advanced end-to-end Solutions to a global audience.
Vodafone Innovus offers, across 20 countries, a wide array of ΙοΤ solutions such as:
- Real time company Fleet Management
- Fixed Asset Management e.g. Soft Drinks and Ice cream Cabinets
- Mobile Asset Tracking for transportation and SVR use
- Gas/Solar/Energy Remote Metering
- Design and manufacture of highly customized telemetry devices

What you’ll do

This role is responsible for working closely with software, QA, and systems engineers to understand requirements and prototype, architect, implement, operate and update DevOps solutions accordingly. The jobholder must be flexible to constant business and technology change, with the ability to interact, engineer and collaborate efficiently with a wide range of stakeholders.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership: 

•    Establish a portfolio of DevOps processes, practices, and tools to empower and support delivery teams in continuous deployment, continuous integration, and rapid delivery across value streams
•    Facilitate team activities during implementation, software configuration, integration, release build using solution deployment tools
•    Create and implement automation and orchestration tools with infrastructure teams or cloud providers
•    Educate and foster self-service and efficiency wherever possible, automating the processes of provisioning and maintaining continuous integration environments, integration/QA testing, security & configuration
•    Ensure availability, scalability, maintainability, monitoring of systems for operations
•    Extent monitoring tools to cover zoning SLA needs & engage on L2 incident management activities remote/on-premise
•    Assume ownership for application/container patching

Who you are

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

•    Advanced ability to analyze and interpret complex problems or processes, identify and understand requirements, and develop solutions
•    Strong problem solving and design thinking skills, and ability to produce out-of-the-box ideas and innovative solutions
•    Strong relationship building, persuasion, and collaboration skills, acting as enabler for coordination of activities between technical teams and building of cross-functional relationships quickly and confidently
•    Agility and willingness to track, assess, and incorporate practice and technology developments into day-to-day working


Must have technical / professional qualifications:
 
•    At least 2 years of professional experience in a relevant role 
•    Automated software and infrastructure deployment and configuration management
•    Agile and DevOps Software development experience
•    Strong Linux distribution experience
•    Strong understanding of network protocols, client-server communication and networking 
•    Strong Virtualization and IAAC technologies, e.g. Proxmox, KVM, Terraform, Puppet 
•    Familiarity to Jenkins & CI/CD pipelines
•    Knowledge of at least one scripting language (ie Bash, Python)
•    Good knowledge of NoSQL databases preferably Cassandra
