Development Chapter Lead (API)
What you’ll do
The API Development Chapter Lead is the Product Owner of Skills Development, who builds expertise in the chapter and develops chapter members by coaching and oversee personal development. In addition, the Chapter Lead is also responsible to lead technology POCs and technology decisions on his domain of expertise and support squads to successfully deliver their roadmap. Thus, will work closely with other Chapter Leads, Tech Leads and Product owners. More specifically you will:
• Act as servant leader for developing the abilities and skills of the chapter members, helping them grow in expertise by coaching and mentoring, increasing their productivity and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance (including hands on through POCs) to ensure the quality and security standards, applying best practices.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and Tech leads to support squad teams on challenging solutions where more complex architectures are needed. Cooperate with other Chapter Leads for cross-chapter integrations.
• Work with the Tribe Leads, Tech Leads and Talent acquisition team to provide workforce plans for recruitment, development and resources allocation.
• Hold responsibility for the performance evaluation of chapter members based on 360 feedback.
Who you are
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Strong leadership and coaching skills with the ability to inspire and motivate.
• At least 4 years of proven experience in API design principles, RESTful principals and Microservices using cloud-friendly technologies and Java oriented frameworks, like Sprig Boot, Quarkus or any other JVM-based technology.
• Have a grasp of Service-Oriented Architectures (SOA), Microservices, and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices (CI/CD, automation).
• Strong design thinking skills and ability to produce out of the box ideas and innovative solutions.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
