Who you are:
The role is responsible for designing and implementing LAN network capabilities that support reliable and secure hosted and collaborative services across Vodafone, with a focus on Gi/Service LAN, Management LAN, Data Center, and Office IT environments. It involves engineering High- and Low-level Design, overseeing network implementation, testing, and quality assurance in local markets, while also contributing to IP connectivity design based on customer demand and driving network optimization. Additionally, the role supports the development and enhancement of the team’s technical skills and expertise.
More specifically you will:
- Be responsible for High Level and Low Level Design engineering and network design optimization
- Drive increased quality of our network end to end
- Provide HLDs, LLDs, define templates, modularize, and industrialize configuration items and their implementation
- Deploy the network fit for purpose including understanding of how our services/applications layer will run across the network (capacity, capability, utilization)
- Implement segregation concepts
- Conduct proof of concept (POC) validation
- Be responsible for optimal implementation process that delivers ensured quality
- Decrease the design and implementation costs and achieve a harmonized & simplified network infrastructure
- Take control over CAPEX budget for the projects including forecast, planning, allocation, approval process, administration
- Deployment of the validated solution to its operational environment
- Planning of Changes and support of Change Management Process
- Supervision of external supporters and 3rd parties
- Ensure quality assurance in the design and implementation process
- Support, Test & Accept/Audit the deployed solution
- Hand over the accepted solution to Operations and Maintenance
- Manage and control the different existing test environments
- Define necessary test catalogues and test plans
- Document test & QA activities
- Drive knowledge transfer and technical skill development within Network Implementation team
- Ensure network documentation
- Support the state-of-the art network documentation for the implemented solution that is aligned with Vodafone security guidelines
- Ensure the quality of the documentation
- Support the data population and accuracy of the Asset- and Change Management - Databases
- Ensure network harmonization and standardization across the Region / the local market
- Harmonize LAN network environments and services
- Drive network standards across local markets
- Drive + Support Network innovations such as SDN
- Collaborate and support teamwork
- Alignment with other engineering, implementation, and operations teams in Vodafone
- Development of harmonized solutions with other Vodafone markets and Vodafone security guidelines
- Share expertise with other network teams across Vodafone
Who you are
- Cultural understanding and communication skills
- Strong team player and appreciate working in a project organization
- Considerable drive and interest in taking on new tasks and challenges
- Thorough experience in collaboration with the Office IT, Data center, service management and ITIL processes
- In-depth knowledge in the following areas:
- Expert Knowledge in networks (TCP/IP, Protocols, Structures, Hardware, Security)
- Expert Knowledge in the area of the installation and configuration of network components (Routers, Switches, VPN Gateways, Firewalls, Proxies and others)
- Expert Knowledge in routing protocols, VOIP technology, WLAN technology, DHCP, DNS, AD
- Expert Knowledge in network management and network analysis
- Knowledge in passive network and Data Centre infrastructure
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
- BSc degree and at least 5 years work experience in an IT / network organization supporting large heterogeneous IP infrastructures.
- R&S CCNP or CCNA certifications strongly recommended
- Knowledge in Cisco ACI strongly recommended
- Goal-oriented and enjoy taking initiative as well as responsibility
- Experiences in project management
- Fluent English oral and written
