Role purpose:

The Release Manager is responsible for managing the release process and coordinating the project roadmap of Vodafone with the Digital and core IT teams. Working closely with Scrum Masters, Developers, Product Owners, Core IT Delivery SPOCs and AO, the Release Manager makes sure for the on time, and quality deliverables of each release. Additionally, is responsible for the Environment’s management.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

•    Manage the deployment of all releases into production and define / assess release readiness according to business requirements
•    Liaise and coordinate with Digital and Core IT to ensure that portfolio needs are met and all respective project functions and delivery stakeholders aligned in terms of delivery
•    Coordinate and communicate the release pipeline to deliver frequent releases across business outcomes; manage external dependencies, ensuring alignment across key partners and vendors
•    Track and report on release progress and manage risks
•    Manage the test environments and coordinate internal and external teams supporting them
•    Perform defect management during all testing phases (SIT, UAT, Regression, Sanities) in case they are blocking a feature/ release from deployment for the agile deliverable 
•    Responsible for identifying, managing, and mitigating cross teams and agile squads’ risks and issues, in order to facilitate with the release process and be aligned to the business outcome vision.

Functional Skills, Credentials and Experience:

•    Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field 
•    Five or more years’ experience in coordinating and delivering major projects and programs 
•    Extensive experience in managing dependencies effectively across multiple delivery teams, meeting deadlines and business outcome objectives
•    Formal training and/or certification in Scaled Agile Framework or similar preferred
•    Professional experience and knowledge of digital and Telecommunications industries strongly preferred

•    Ability to contextualise the wider business and financial goals and make decisions, prioritization, and recommendations accordingly
•    Ability to function with a high degree of autonomy
•    Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with both technical and business audiences
•    Understanding of both the current Telecommunications and digital services market 
•    Strong time-management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple balls
