If you want to grow your career whilst finding the perfect balance between work and life, Vodafone offers the opportunities to help you belong and make a real impact.

What you’ll do

As Site Reliability Engineering Chapter Lead, you will own the development of SRE capabilities, building and growing a strong SRE community and ensuring consistent practices across teams and platforms. You will lead through coaching rather than line management, focusing on knowledge sharing and continuous improvement, while setting clear chapter principles that support strong reliability, observability, automation, and smooth operations for Vodafone’s critical services.

More Specifically you will:

  • Guide and grow a community of SRE experts working within cross‑functional teams
  • Act as Chapter Product Owner for SRE practices, tooling, and skills development
  • Allocate SRE resources across teams based on seniority, priority, and business criticality
  • Organize chapter rituals to nurture best practices, knowledge sharing, and innovation in reliability engineering
  • Act as a servant leader, supporting organisational maturity and readiness rather than controlling delivery
  • Define, maintain, and harmonize SRE chapter principles and standards across the organization
  • Mentor and coach SREs, enabling growth in both technical depth and breadth
  • Promote and embed SRE principles such as SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, automation first mindset, and blameless postmortems
  • Ensure technical integrity and quality consistency across the full-service lifecycle (design, build, deploy, operate)
  • Drive continuous improvement of monitoring, alerting, observability, and incident/problem management practices
  • Act as key contributor during major incidents, ensuring learning, root cause analysis, and sustainable remediation
  • Identify, standardize, and improve operations and reliability processes across organizations, increasing efficiency and resilience

Who you are

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, IT Operations, DevOps, or similar roles
  • 2–3+ years of experience coaching, mentoring, or leading technical communities or teams
  • Strong hands-on background in cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure, OCI) and large‑scale systems
  • Proven expertise in monitoring, logging, and observability tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)
  • Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation, scripting (Python, Bash), and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible)
  • Solid understanding of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with incident & problem management, root cause analysis, and service resiliency design
  • Passion for continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and capability building
  • Agile mindset, able to foster collaboration and continuous improvement across squads
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, acting as an enabler and trusted advisor across technical and business teams
  • Ability to bring external best practices, experiment, and drive innovation in SRE ways of working
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Greek and English, with technical and nontechnical audiences
