What you’ll do

To carry out operational activities for the Voice Core Network. Activities include evaluating, testing, and integrating new technologies and products, administering network systems, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, handling customer complaints, communicating with vendors, managing technical escalations and emergencies, and overseeing incident and problem management. Additional responsibilities include software and hardware management, change management, performance management, and troubleshooting of Voice Core network systems, covering all current and future technologies.

The role ensures the stability and uninterrupted operation of Voice Core network systems, applications, and services. It aims to maintain and improve the high level of service offered to customers at a minimum cost, contributing to company profitability and growth through innovative thinking and independent working. The engineer will participate in a standby scheme providing network and services support 24x7 and work outside regular hours to perform various activities as described.

•    Provide 2nd level technical support, preventive and corrective maintenance, and performance management for the optimal operation of the Voice Core network.
•    Conduct configuration, upgrade, and expansion activities for fixed and mobile telephony systems.
•    Manage and implement fixed and mobile voice-related projects.
•    Troubleshoot technical problems in telephony systems and networks and maintain communication/reporting follow-up with vendors. Provide expert support for customer voice-related technical problems.
•    Test, verify, and accept new voice systems, functionalities, and services.
 

Who you are


•    High-level problem-solving capability due to the complexity and variety of network-related issues.
•    Ability to apply virtual team management principles, as part of the department’s workforce is geographically dispersed.
•    Think "out-of-the-box" to drive the ongoing transformation of working processes and align with evolving business needs.
•    Excellent analytical and investigative skills for complex technical issues/problems.
•    Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
•    Engineering Degree Preferably Telecoms related.
•    Very good command of English, fluent verbal and written communication
•    At least 3 years’ experience in operation and maintenance of Voice Core Systems
•    Very good knowledge of communication protocols including SIP, ISUP, H.248, DIAMETER, MAP, SCCP, TCAP, CAMEL
•    Proven troubleshooting capabilities in telephony systems and networks
•    Experience in performance and fault management
•    Knowledge of AXE platform (MSS HLR AUC TSC)
•    Knowledge of IP protocols and OS systems (Linux) is a nice to have
