About this role
We are seeking a Network Operations Consultant to join our DSO 1st Line team. This role is focused on fault management across IP and Data technologies, ensuring timely diagnostics and resolution of network issues. The individual will work within a Network Operations Centre environment, supporting WAN and LAN fault management, and collaborating with internal teams and external partners to maintain service quality. This is a permanent role based in Bangalore, with potential relocation to Pune subject to HR approval.
What you’ll do
- Proactively monitor customer networks to detect faults.
- Respond to fault reports and perform diagnostics to resolve issues.
- Maintain accurate ticket details and ensure timely updates.
- Escalate faults within defined timeframes and collaborate with relevant stakeholders.
- Conduct initial diagnostics and replicate fault conditions for validation.
- Manage reactive incidents and escalate to 2nd Line when necessary.
- Support team operations and contribute to customer and management reporting.
- Ensure adherence to SLA timelines and quality procedures.
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Work in shifts (9 hours/day) in a 24x7x365 environment.
Who you are
- 2–4 years of experience in network operations, specifically IP & Data technologies.
- Strong understanding of WAN & LAN technologies including IP, MPLS, ATM, FR.
- Experience with Cisco routers and switches, and resolving PE-CE-LAN connectivity issues.
- Familiarity with transmission networks and global telecom infrastructure.
- Proven ability to work in international environments, especially with UK & Europe.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to adapt to diverse teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Communications, Computer Science, or IT.
- Desired: CCNA/CCNP certification, understanding of QoS, packet drops, jitter, latency, and ITIL framework.
- Self-motivated, collaborative, and analytical with a problem-solving mindset.
