Your day to day:

To coach, drive and support the product owner / process owner and wider Scrum team in the delivery of business outcomes as part of European Networks Digital Transformation Portfolio. Executing Agile, Lean, and Continuous Delivery best practices as appropriate and embedding DevOps behaviours and principles within a continuous delivery model.
 
The Scrum Master is a key role within Digital Delivery & Transformation team, and will work with tribe members from across the Digital & OSS Product; Automation, Digital Engineering and Platform teams and the wider Networks business to implement capability which supports the Digital roadmap. 
 
The Digital Transformation includes the Elimination, radical Simplification and Automation of core end to end business processes, a fundamental shift in how the business utilises data and insight to drive value, and significant investment in both our technology (tools) estate and our people. 
 
This is a delivery role, and as such requires a self-motivated and driven individual with a “get it done” mentality and a passion for helping organisations solve complex business and technology problems. A confident communicator with strong influencing, negotiation and problem solving skills, experienced in working up to senior management level the SM will have the ability to structure complex information and communicate in the most appropriate way to the relevant stakeholders. 
 
Strong agile skills and experience in using a wide range of influencing techniques are essential to success, as is the ability to tailor methodology to get the best out of a fast paced, outcomes focussed commercial delivery environment.

The Scrum Master plasys a crucial role in both driving continuous improvement of the delviery processes and mehods within the delviery squads, and the compliance to the processes and standards of the Digital delviery teams e.g use of DevOps tooling and doccuentation standards.

Experience of working within a SAFe model is highly desireable as a capability we are both transforming to a SAFe delviery menthodology within Digital and leading the journey to SAFe across the wider Networks organisaiton as part of our Tech 2025 strategy.

•    Keep the Squad organized, on track, and focused on what matters.
A scrum master’s primary responsibility is to keep the development team organized and progressing on the projects they’ve agreed to, in order of priority. 
•    Clear obstacles and protect the team from distractions.
Facilitate teams in overcoming Dependencies / Risks / Issues preventing completion of sprint task so the team can continue its work.
Protect their developers’ time and to create an environment where they have a clear path to focus on doing their best work.
•    Be an Agile subject matter expert for the Networks Digital Transformation, acting as agile coach to both Product, Process Owners and Team members across the Networks Digital Transformation Portfolio to enable the delivery of agreed business outcomes
•    Facilitate Agile processes and ceremonies across multiple delivery squads, monitor the progress of the squads and the scope of goals, coordinate the interaction with other teams, manage the processes related to the completion of tasks and the identification of dependencies with other teams
•    Develop Agile teams and methodology by ensuring compliance and continuous improvement of Agile ceremonies and other tools of the methodology, creating and maintain an atmosphere of trust in the team by facilitating retrospective and feedback, eliminating hindrances and keeping the list of hindrances updated

•    Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to articulate complex issues simply and with impact

•    Emotionally intelligent with the ability to flex styles across a wide range of stakeholders at various levels within the organisation

•    An experienced Scrum Master able to coach and develop new Scrum Masters and continuous learning across the organisation 

•    Deep experience of Agile tools and methodology with a passion and desire for sharing them across the wider organisation (i.e.: Story Point estimating, Technical debt management, testing, Agile games, Burn down, Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.)

•    Strong experience working on AGILE and Waterfall projects and familiarity of tools such as SCRUM, KANBAN and IIRA
