About this Role

We are seeking a skilled System Expert to provide 2nd Line Operations support for IP Access within a NOKIA service-router environment. The individual will oversee troubleshooting, automation, preventive maintenance, and service restoration for multiple fixed and mobile network components, including SecGW for 4G/5G, mBNG, and CGNat/AFTR systems. This role involves developing automation tools, supporting software rollouts, and collaborating with 1st Line Operations to maintain high service continuity and performance.

What you’ll do

  • Conduct troubleshooting analysis and carry out all corrective actions during incidents to restore IP services, escalating to vendors where required.
  • Develop software solutions to automate network delivery and troubleshooting processes.
  • Create and maintain automation tools that support proactive maintenance and network optimisation, taking corrective measures based on performance trends.
  • Deliver planned work activities such as network rollouts, software upgrades, and parameter updates while safeguarding service quality.
  • Build and refine scripts and automation solutions for task automation and auto-resolution of potential outages.
  • Modify scripts and software tools to reflect updates in network architecture.
  • Support Service Level Agreements and service KPIs, ensuring alignment with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Share knowledge to enhance the technical capabilities of teams involved in network deployment and operations.

Who you are

  • Experienced in building and maintaining scripting tools, automations, and digital systems that enhance service recovery and system development.
  • Skilled in generating technical instructions for 1st Line support and independently performing 2nd Line support for IP service applications, particularly in configuration and provisioning systems and routing protocols such as BGP and MPLS.
  • Able to adapt scripts and automation mechanisms to support IP network troubleshooting.Knowledgeable in defining, tracking, and ensuring compliance with SLAs and service KPIs.
  • Proactive in identifying performance issues and implementing optimisation measures.
  • Capable of supporting service request fulfilment, system rollouts, and software deployment, contributing to the automation strategy using tools such as Ansible and Python.
  • Collaborative, with proficiency in English and German.
  • Holds a university degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, or Information Technology.
  • Brings 3 years’ experience in IP services and maintenance (MPLS, DHCP, NTP), 1–3 years in Linux OS and database operations, and 1 year in scripting and automation, including Camunda and CISCO SDN controller.
