What you’ll do

As the Manager of Accounting Principles & Advisory, you will be an integral part of the Accounting Competence Centre team within the End-to-End Accounting & Reporting framework of VF Group.

You will be responsible for making strategic accounting judgments and ensuring compliance assurance at the group level for Vodafone's local markets. Your role will involve leading the application of IFRS and local GAAP policies, overseeing the holistic application of accounting policies and reporting standards, and providing advisory services for market organizations across a range of commercial transactions. You will support strategic key projects to deliver compliant, consistent, and accurate policy application for all business transactions across the markets.

Additionally, you will collaborate closely with the Group Financial Reporting team and the Market Financial Reporting Team to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. You will also be responsible for creating and maintaining applicable local market GAAP policies, supporting process transformation in the Commercial Shared Operations organization, and ensuring efficient and effective accounting compliance, governance, and advisory through operational excellence.

In the role of GM - Accounting Centre of Excellence, you will assume responsibility for the governance of RTR-related Vodafone Group Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring consistency, accuracy, transparency, excellence, and compliance across all accounting functions. You will lead the RTR transformation agenda under strategic RTR Roadmap objectives, offering accounting expertise for process transformation driven by critical accounting projects. You will lead change management and change governance, steering comprehensive plans and strategies for large-scale transformations and ensuring accurate financial statements. You will support the implementation of strategic projects with a clear understanding of financial scenarios, accounting, and compliance of governance frameworks, impact analysis, and reporting processes, supporting strategic decision-making at both local and organizational levels. You will collaborate closely with the Group Financial Reporting and Accounting Principles & Advisory team to align accounting policy, judgment, and application. Additionally, you will support local Chief Accountants to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, enabling local markets to certify Income Statements, Balance Sheet Reviews, and other Financial Statements artifacts under both IFRS and Local GAAP.

Who you are

  • Chartered Accountant (or equivalent) with a university degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in finance, particularly in finance operations, with a track record of delivering major finance transformation projects.
  • Solid understanding of how IFRS and local policy are applied to commercial transactions.
  • Functional leadership skills and experience in navigating project teams in a complex and dynamic operating environment.
  • Deep technical financial and accounting skills with expertise in controls, management, cost, revenue, asset, and lease accounting.
  • Excellent self-leadership, situational self-awareness, and high resilience.
  • Empathetic with different personality types and a deep interest in humans, embracing diversity for better outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills to ensure transparent representation of accounting judgments.
  • Business partnering skills and a customer-oriented mindset.
  • IT and data analytics literacy with telecommunications industry experience and business acumen
