About this Role

We are seeking a Big Data System Specialist to join our Product Engineering team in Bucharest. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in data streaming, ETL processes, and infrastructure management. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust data movement systems, ensuring their performance, availability, and security. The position also involves providing advanced support, contributing to automation initiatives, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality data solutions.

What you will do

  • Deliver Level 2 and Level 3 support for data movement applications, clusters, and dataflows.
  • Design, configure, and implement data movement solutions at application, OS, and cluster levels.
  • Develop and maintain real-time and batch data streaming pipelines.
  • Build and manage data connectors tailored to business requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and availability.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis and propose effective solutions for technical issues.
  • Support transformation and technology refresh programmes to enhance service quality.
  • Drive automation and standardisation to simplify recurring tasks and improve delivery.
  • Share knowledge and maintain comprehensive documentation and operational runbooks.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and be available for exceptional support needs.
  • Respond to additional technical or business requests from the team leader.

Who you are

  • Enthusiastic about continuous learning and skill development.

  • Proficient in English, both written and spoken.

  • Skilled in creating detailed technical documentation.
  • Committed to enhancing customer experience through a service-oriented approach.
  • Technical expertise in:
    • Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, or NiFi (installation, configuration, deployment).
    • Java programming.
    • System administration (RHEL or similar).
    • Cloud services and general security principles.
    • Scripting languages and databases.
    • Container orchestration (preferably Kubernetes).
  • Certifications (nice to have):
    • CCAAK / CTAK or equivalent.
    • Java SE Oracle Certified Associate/Professional.
    • RHCSA or equivalent.
