About this Role

We are seeking an experienced DBA Specialist to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of database systems supporting IT and telecom applications. This role sits within Core Infrastructure Management – Data Management and focuses on operational excellence, incident resolution, automation, and the design and implementation of robust database solutions. The role is based in Bucharest, Iași, or can be performed fully remotely.

What you will do

  • Provide Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 support for database-related incidents and problems, ensuring agreed service levels are met.
  • Perform technical investigations into performance incidents, identify root causes, and propose effective solutions.
  • Design, configure, and implement database solutions aligned with defined technical requirements.
  • Optimise existing database architectures through redesigns, upgrades, and performance tuning to meet evolving business needs.
  • Develop scripts and programs to automate recurring activities and extend the functionality of IT solutions.
  • Ensure database integrity, security, and operational performance parameters are consistently achieved.
  • Support the transition of new platforms from build to run, ensuring smooth operational take-over.
  • Contribute to transformation and technology refresh programmes aimed at improving availability, quality, and performance.
  • Carry out proactive maintenance activities based on monitoring tools, alerts, and notifications.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, shifts, overtime, and standby duties as required by business needs.
  • Support project delivery by providing expert guidance and high-quality implementation support.

Who you are

  • You have over five years of experience supporting databases in a production environment.
  • You bring advanced expertise in Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server database administration.
  • You have strong skills in SQL performance tuning and optimisation.
  • You are experienced in PL/SQL and UNIX/Linux shell scripting.
  • You are familiar with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, Grid/Cloud Control, RMAN, Data Pump, and related technologies.
  • You understand ITIL principles, IT Service Management concepts (such as ISO 20000), and SOX requirements.
  • You have a solid understanding of general information security principles.
  • You communicate clearly in English, both written and spoken.
  • You are well organised, able to manage multiple priorities, and remain effective under pressure.
  • You are customer-focused and comfortable working within remote and distributed teams.
