About this Role

We are seeking an experienced DC Network Senior Engineer to join our DC Network Design team in Bucharest. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and evolving the network infrastructure in our Data Centers. Your expertise will help ensure security, reliability, and high availability while also planning and implementing modern network solutions. You will work with innovative technologies and play a key role in transitioning legacy setups into standardized architectures. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize network policies, ensuring seamless performance across all services.

What you’ll do

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and project teams on setting the priorities and type of connectivity needed and deploy the network fit for purpose by applying Vodafone Group best practices for security, capacity, capability or redundancy in order to have best in class services and applications.
  • Design network infrastructure  (physical and virtual) solutions to support business-critical applications.
  • Plan and execute network migrations from legacy setups to modern architectures.
  • Define and enforce global network design standards to maximize efficiency and uniformity.
  • Collaborate with operational teams, Data Center specialists, and risk owners to optimize network designs.
  • Conduct capacity planning and performance analysis to ensure scalability and reliability.

Who you are

  • In-depth knowledge of OSPFv2/v3, BGP/MP-BGP, VXLAN/EVPN, and load balancing with minimum 5 years' hands-on experience
  • Strong experience with network security appliances, firewall systems, and traffic filtering solutions.
  • Hands-on expertise with redundancy, high availability, and capacity planning for large-scale networks.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) are an advantage.
  • University degree in technology (e.g., engineering, telecommunications, computer science).
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
