About this Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Engineer – 2nd Line SOX Testing to join our Network Operations team in Bucharest. This role is responsible for supporting and ensuring compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) through effective audits, risk assessments, and process optimisation. The successful candidate will act as a key liaison between internal teams and external auditors, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting controls and continuous improvement of internal processes.

What you will do

  • Coordinate and support SOX audits and compliance activities within Network Operations.
  • Collaborate with SOX Control Owners and Performers to ensure the design and effectiveness of internal controls.
  • Drive improvements in quality and efficiency of the internal control system for financial reporting.
  • Initiate corrective actions for non-compliance and provide supporting evidence.
  • Conduct and coordinate risk assessments for identified control weaknesses.
  • Design and implement continuous development and optimisation of processes and procedures.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for SOX-related matters within Network Operations.
  • Assist departments in preparing and uploading evidence to the global SOX documentation tool.
  • Facilitate communication between auditors, Finance, and Network Operations teams.
  • Support the definition and alignment of requirements for IT and OSS Engineering related to SOX.

Who you are

  • Hold a degree in natural sciences, engineering, economics, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Possess a minimum of five years’ experience in technical operations or audit within a telecommunications network environment.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) and General IT Controls (GITC).
  • Experienced in security, data protection (GDPR), and quality/process management (ISO9001).
  • Able to present complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Fluent in both German and English (minimum B2 level according to CEFR).
