About this Role

We are seeking an IAM Operations Engineer to support and enhance identity and access management solutions for internal and external Vodafone Germany customers. This role focuses on the operational lifecycle of IAM platforms, automation, system optimisation, and incident resolution, ensuring secure, reliable, and efficient user access across complex technology environments.

What you’ll do

  • Modify, adapt, and optimise IAM software solutions to improve performance, stability, and user experience.
  • Manage end‑to‑end lifecycle processes for onboarding and offboarding applications and tools.
  • Perform functional and technical end‑to‑end system testing.
  • Ensure accurate provisioning, de‑provisioning, and governance of user access rights across integrated systems.
  • Review technical and functional specifications and implement required software and hardware changes.
  • Conduct impact analysis and deliver technical solutions to resolve incidents and complex operational issues.
  • Provide advanced operational support for IAM platforms, including incident and problem management.
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain automation scripts using Python, PL/SQL, or shell scripting.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, audits, and standards such as SOX and baseline assessments.
  • Participate in on‑call rotations, release weekends, and critical operational activities when required.

Who you are

  • Educated to degree level in an engineering‑related discipline (e.g. automation, electronics, communications, or similar).
  • Experienced in identity and access management concepts, account provisioning, and security best practices.
  • Comfortable working with Windows and Unix/Linux environments, including command‑line operations.
  • Familiar with programming or scripting languages such as Python, PL/SQL, Bash, or Java.
  • Knowledgeable in Windows Server configuration, database administration, and Microsoft SQL.Experienced in virtualisation technologies (e.g. VMware).
  • Familiar with IP networking concepts, communication architectures, and protocols.
  • Analytical, detail‑oriented, and confident in solving complex technical problems.
  • Able to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively in a multinational environment.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
