IoT 1st Line Service Support Engineer

We work with customers across 28 countries from 10 VOIS locations: Albania, Egypt, Hungary, India, Romania, Spain, Turkey, UK, Germany, Ireland, and with a network of teams in Czech Republic, Italy, Greece, and Portugal.
About this Role
What you will do
- Monitor and troubleshoot hardware and software components using designated tools to maintain optimal system availability.
- Deliver 24/7 technical support, gather diagnostic information and efficiently resolve incidents; coordinate cross‑team investigations when required.
- Adapt and enhance existing software solutions to improve system performance and customer experience.
- Communicate technical updates to customers regarding events and alarms using agreed communication channels.
- Analyse data from clients and monitoring systems, propose solutions and share results with relevant engineering teams to address complex incidents and software issues.
- Review technical and functional specifications related to changes in hardware and software solutions.
- Work in alignment with operational agreements and performance indicators such as response time and accuracy.
- Create operational procedures and work instructions that support team knowledge‑sharing and consistent service delivery.
Who you are
- Knowledge of telecom technologies including 2G/3G/4G Core Networks and IP‑based systems.
- Experience working with Circuit Switch (SMSC, HLR) and Packet Switch (GGSN) equipment.
- Understanding of protocols such as GTP, RADIUS, Diameter, IP, IPSEC and SS7.
- Experience with packet capture tools (e.g., Wireshark, Ethereal, tcpdump).
- Basic Linux/UNIX and command‑line knowledge, with introductory scripting skills.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Minimum of one year of relevant experience.
- Experience in a multinational environment and CCNA Routing & Switching certification.
- Familiarity with ITIL methodology.
