About this Role

We are seeking an IoT Service Support Engineer to ensure the high availability, stability and performance of IT and telecom systems supporting Vodafone’s IoT customers. The individual will deliver first‑line technical support, perform real‑time monitoring, investigate incidents, collaborate with cross‑functional operational teams, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. This role involves working with core telecom technologies, network protocols, and monitoring tools to maintain reliable, secure and efficient services for corporate customers.

What you will do

  • Monitor and troubleshoot hardware and software components using designated tools to maintain optimal system availability.
  • Deliver 24/7 technical support, gather diagnostic information and efficiently resolve incidents; coordinate cross‑team investigations when required.
  • Adapt and enhance existing software solutions to improve system performance and customer experience.
  • Communicate technical updates to customers regarding events and alarms using agreed communication channels.
  • Analyse data from clients and monitoring systems, propose solutions and share results with relevant engineering teams to address complex incidents and software issues.
  • Review technical and functional specifications related to changes in hardware and software solutions.
  • Work in alignment with operational agreements and performance indicators such as response time and accuracy.
  • Create operational procedures and work instructions that support team knowledge‑sharing and consistent service delivery.

Who you are

  • Knowledge of telecom technologies including 2G/3G/4G Core Networks and IP‑based systems.
  • Experience working with Circuit Switch (SMSC, HLR) and Packet Switch (GGSN) equipment.
  • Understanding of protocols such as GTP, RADIUS, Diameter, IP, IPSEC and SS7.
  • Experience with packet capture tools (e.g., Wireshark, Ethereal, tcpdump).
  • Basic Linux/UNIX and command‑line knowledge, with introductory scripting skills.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience.
  • Experience in a multinational environment and CCNA Routing & Switching certification.
  • Familiarity with ITIL methodology.
