About this Role

 

We are seeking a Network Operations Engineer to provide first-line technical support for live telecommunications and IT systems serving Vodafone operating companies and partner networks. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for telecommunications, networking technologies, and systems troubleshooting who want to build hands-on experience within a global technology environment.
You will contribute to maintaining service stability, resolving technical incidents, supporting software and hardware implementations, and ensuring network performance meets customer and business expectations. Where required, you will collaborate with wider technical teams to investigate and resolve complex issues.

What you’ll do

Provide first-line technical support for live telecommunications and IT systems.
Monitor, investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve software and hardware incidents.
Support the implementation and configuration of new software solutions and functionalities.
Perform system testing activities to identify and resolve technical issues before production deployment.
Configure, integrate, and optimise network software parameters to meet quality and performance standards.
Analyse and resolve issues impacting fixed and mobile telecommunications environments.
Carry out preventive system checks and support continuous service improvement initiatives.
Investigate technical requests received from operational teams and service management functions.
Escalate complex incidents to higher technical support levels when appropriate.
Support network stability, availability, and performance across customer environments.
Contribute to software customisation and deployment activities where required.
Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to ensure timely incident resolution and service excellence.

Who you are

A graduate of a technical university programme such as Telecommunications, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Automation, or a related discipline.
Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Additional European language skills are considered an advantage.
Knowledge of operating systems, databases, and IT applications within telecommunications environments.
Understanding of networking concepts and technologies, including GPON, FTTH, and IP networking.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.
Comfortable working with technical incidents and service restoration activities.
Collaborative team player with strong communication skills.
Willingness to participate in shift-based operations, including occasional weekend or out-of-hours support where business requirements apply.
