About this Role
We are seeking an OSS Fulfilment Software Developer to contribute to the development and maintenance of OSS Fulfilment software components and services. Working as part of a collaborative engineering team, you will support the delivery of new features, fixes and automation capabilities while building your technical expertise in telecommunications and enterprise software environments. This role offers the opportunity to develop hands-on experience across software development, testing, troubleshooting, integration technologies and modern engineering practices.
What you’ll do
- Implement features and fixes within OSS Fulfilment components in line with team engineering standards and development practices.
- Write and maintain unit tests and support integration testing activities to help ensure solution quality.
- Assist with troubleshooting activities, log analysis and defect resolution across applications and integrations.
- Contribute to technical documentation updates, including technical notes, operational documentation and runbooks.
- Support continuous improvement activities that enhance application quality, maintainability and delivery efficiency.
- Collaborate with development, operations and support teams to validate solutions and assist with issue replication where required.
- Provide clear and consistent progress updates and ensure implemented changes are documented and handed over effectively
Who you are
- You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Telecommunications or have equivalent practical experience.
- You have basic to intermediate knowledge of Java development and object-oriented programming, with a strong willingness to learn and grow in enterprise software environments.
- You possess foundational knowledge of relational databases and SQL, ideally including exposure to Oracle databases and PL/SQL concepts.
- You understand software development lifecycle practices, including coding standards, unit testing, defect resolution and technical documentation.
- You have exposure to, or are keen to learn, integration technologies and patterns used in OSS environments, including JDBC, XML-based interfaces, HTTP/XML and SOAP services.
- You have a basic understanding of scripting and automation concepts, with Shell scripting knowledge considered advantageous.
- You are familiar with version control systems and development toolchains used within enterprise delivery environments.
- You have a basic understanding of Artificial Intelligence concepts and experience or interest in AI-assisted development tools.
- You are able to use AI-assisted tools to support coding, testing and troubleshooting activities while continuously developing your skills.
- ou demonstrate curiosity, a willingness to learn, strong collaboration skills and effective communication.
- You communicate confidently in English, both written and spoken.
- Knowledge of testing and deployment activities within integration environments would be beneficial.
