About this Role

We are seeking a Privacy & Responsible AI Lead to support the effective delivery of privacy, Responsible AI and data management requirements across assigned VOIS markets, centres and business areas. This role is ideal for a professional with experience in privacy, compliance, risk, data governance or technology governance who is passionate about responsible use of data and technology. You will work closely with business stakeholders to provide practical guidance, manage compliance activities, support risk assessments and help ensure privacy, AI governance and data management requirements are embedded into business processes.

What you’ll do

  • Deliver Privacy by Design and privacy advisory activities, including Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), records of processing activities, privacy reviews for contracts and suppliers, RFx support and day-to-day privacy advisory requests.
  • Apply Vodafone Group privacy requirements and escalate complex or high-risk matters where appropriate.
  • Support Responsible AI governance activities, including AI risk assessments, AI inventory reviews, supplier AI and privacy evaluations, transparency reviews and evidence collection for AI use cases.
  • Help ensure privacy and Responsible AI requirements are considered early in project and operational lifecycles.
  • Support implementation of data management controls, including data governance, records management, retention, deletion and data quality practices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and control evidence in line with agreed methodologies.
  • Identify, document and monitor privacy, AI and data management risks, issues, incidents and remediation plans.
  • Support internal and external assurance activities by maintaining audit-ready evidence and providing timely reporting.
  • Assist with the management of personal data breaches, privacy-related security incidents and Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs), ensuring accurate documentation, stakeholder coordination and timely escalation where required.
  • Build trusted relationships with stakeholders across Legal, Security, Technology, HR, Finance, Procurement, Sales, Operations, Service Towers, Group Privacy and Local Markets.
  • Contribute to process simplification, automation initiatives, awareness activities and continuous improvement of privacy, AI governance and data management practices.

Who you are

  • University degree in Law, Compliance, Risk, Business, Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in privacy, legal, compliance, risk, audit, data governance, technology governance or a related operational control environment.
  • Experience within a multinational technology, telecommunications or shared services organisation is advantageous.
  • Good working knowledge of EU privacy legislation, AI regulation, cybersecurity requirements and the wider global data protection landscape.
  • Experience supporting privacy management frameworks, including DPIAs, PIAs, controller and processor obligations, international data transfers, incident management and individual rights requests.
  • Understanding of Responsible AI governance, including AI risk assessments, EU AI Act principles, transparency requirements, human oversight and supplier governance considerations.
  • Knowledge of data governance, records management, retention, deletion, data quality and accountability frameworks.
  • Ability to interpret legal, policy and control requirements and translate them into practical business guidance.
  • Strong analytical, risk management and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, collaboration and communication skills.
  • Fluent English with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Professional privacy certification such as CIPP/E, CIPM or equivalent is preferred.
  • AI governance, data governance, security or risk certifications are desirable.
  • Good digital and AI literacy, including the ability to understand technology-enabled business processes and recognise when specialist input is required.
