About this Role

We are seeking a Programme Governance & Quality Lead to drive governance standards and delivery assurance across Strategic Programmes and Operational Initiatives. This role focuses on embedding consistent governance practices, monitoring delivery performance through KPIs and milestones, and providing clear, timely insights to stakeholders. The successful candidate will support hybrid delivery environments and enable informed decision-making, consistent execution, and continuous improvement across programmes.

What you will do

Define and implement governance standards across programmes and operational initiatives.
Ensure adherence to governance processes, including milestones, approvals, reporting, and maintaining a central deliverables library.
Maintain key governance artefacts such as RAID logs, decision registers, and compliance checklists.
Promote effective use of VOIS tools including Agility, Azure DevOps, Jira, and Power BI.
Support hybrid delivery models with tailored governance approaches.
Track and report delivery health indicators (KPIs, milestones, risks, and issues).
Provide transparent dashboards and reports to senior stakeholders, including process and business health metrics.
Facilitate risk and issue escalation and resolution across change domains.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed standards and continuous improvement practices.
Act as a governance advisor to programme sponsors, programme leads, and Centres of Excellence.
Communicate governance insights, programme health, and quality performance effectively.
Own and deliver programme communications including dashboards, newsletters, and executive summaries.
Ensure communications are clear, timely, and aligned with Strategic Programmes and Lean Operations frameworks.

Who you are

An individual with at least 5 years’ experience in an IT environment.
Demonstrates strong understanding of programme and project governance.
Skilled in building and maintaining governance artefacts such as RAID logs, decision registers, and compliance trackers.
Experienced in hybrid delivery environments (Agile and Waterfall).
Capable of defining, tracking, and interpreting KPIs with strong attention to data quality and reporting accuracy.
A confident communicator who can engage stakeholders and influence without formal authority.
Proficient in creating executive-level communications including dashboards and reports.
Experienced in using dashboarding tools such as Power BI.
Familiar with portfolio and delivery tools including Azure DevOps, Jira, Teams, and SharePoint.
Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Holds experience in programme governance, PMO, or delivery assurance within complex environments.
Demonstrates working knowledge of delivery methodologies and governance tailoring.
Comfortable producing executive reporting and maintaining governance artefacts.
Holds a relevant academic qualification and/or professional certification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, AgilePM, Scrum Master) is advantageous.
