About this Role
What you will do
- Define, maintain, and evolve the global roaming target architecture, covering S8HR, LBO, signalling, routing, and interconnect models.
- Lead High‑Level and Low‑Level Design creation for multi‑market roaming service deployments.
- Establish architectural principles, reusable patterns, and guardrails to support cross‑market engineering consistency.Ensure compliance with GSMA and 3GPP roaming specifications (including IR.21, IR.65, IR.85, IR.88, IR.95).Drive standardisation and cross‑market alignment for roaming services and technical frameworks.
- Lead technical readiness and launch governance for roaming services, ensuring seamless interworking with EPC/5GC, IPX, and signalling networks.
- Conduct inter‑operator testing, roaming trials, and international interoperability validation.
- Oversee lifecycle assurance, deep‑dive diagnostics, and issue resolution for deployed roaming services.Monitor and optimise key roaming KPIs including attach, registration, and session success.Act as Vodafone’s technical authority in vendor engagements, IPX discussions, GSMA working groups, and operator‑partner interactions.
- Provide technical mentorship to teams across VOIS and Vodafone markets.Support technical budget planning for roaming evolution, including investment recommendations and cost‑efficient design choices.Evaluate vendor proposals and assess licensing, capacity, and financial implications in line with Group strategy.
