About this Role

We are seeking a System Engineering Specialist to join our Software & Product Infrastructure team within the Cloud Development function in Bucharest, Romania. In this role, you will contribute to the design, implementation, automation and operational management of enterprise infrastructure solutions across on-premises and public cloud environments.
You will support projects throughout the full lifecycle, from technical requirements definition and solution design through implementation, testing and operational support. The role focuses on Linux and Windows system administration, cloud technologies, infrastructure automation, virtualisation platforms and operational excellence. You will also contribute to disaster recovery readiness, platform optimisation and the adoption of new technologies that enhance service availability, performance and reliability.

What you’ll do

  • Participate in all stages of IT projects, including requirements gathering, technical analysis, planning, implementation and testing.
  • Define technical requirements and evaluate alternative technology solutions.
  • Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools to improve operational efficiency and extend platform functionality.
  • Design, configure and implement solutions involving operating systems and virtualisation platforms.
  • Support the development, testing and continual improvement of disaster recovery solutions and recovery scenarios.
  • Optimise existing infrastructure through architecture improvements, software upgrades and platform modernisation initiatives.
  • Contribute to technology transformation and refresh programmes focused on improving service availability and application performance.
  • Investigate infrastructure and performance incidents, identify root causes and recommend appropriate remediation actions.
  • Analyse and resolve software and infrastructure-related requests while minimising impact on users and business operations.
  • Perform proactive maintenance activities using monitoring tools, alerts and automated operational processes.
  • Participate in proof-of-concept activities and the evaluation of emerging technologies.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams and change management documentation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across distributed teams and support knowledge sharing initiatives.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, standby support and occasional out-of-hours activities when required by business needs.

Who you are

  • University degree or equivalent qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Systems Administrator or Infrastructure Engineer.
  • Experience administering Linux operating systems, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Oracle Linux, and Ubuntu.
  • Experience administering Microsoft Windows Server environments.Knowledge of VMware vSphere, virtualisation technologies, and High Availability solutions.
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure architecture, hardware platforms, and enterprise systems.
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools such as Bash and PowerShell.
  • Understanding of ITIL principles and operational IT processes.
  • General knowledge of cyber security concepts and best practices.
  • Understanding of cloud computing concepts including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
  • Foundational knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
  • Working knowledge of Git, GitLab, or GitHub for source control and collaboration.
  • Experience supporting hybrid infrastructures across both on-premises and cloud-based environments.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective documentation and communication capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Experience working with distributed and remote teams.
