About this Role

We are seeking a Network Operations Engineer to support and enhance software and hardware solutions used for user management across Vodafone Germany services. The role involves ensuring the successful transition of solutions into operational environments, performing testing and validation activities, implementing system changes, resolving complex incidents, and contributing to automation initiatives that improve service performance and customer experience.

What you’ll do

Modify, adapt and optimise software solutions to enhance performance and user experience.Perform end-to-end testing of system functionalities.Review technical and functional specifications and implement required system modifications.Conduct impact assessments and develop technical solutions to resolve incidents and complex operational issues.Provide advanced technical support and ensure timely incident resolution.Contribute to the development and maintenance of automation scripts.Implement software and infrastructure changes in line with established procedures.Create and maintain technical documentation, work instructions and operational procedures.Work closely with stakeholders to maintain service quality and operational performance targets.Support platform deployments, maintenance activities and continuous improvement initiatives.

Who you are

  • Degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Electronics, Automation or a related field.
  • Customer-focused with strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with programming or scripting languages such as Python, PL/SQL or Bash.
  • Knowledge of Java and PL/SQL.
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems and command-line environments.
  • Experience in Windows Server administration.
  • Understanding of IP networking concepts, communication network architecture and related protocols.
  • Ability to analyse complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Experience working in a multinational environment.
  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.

Must-have technical/professional qualifications

  • Experience with virtualisation technologies such as VMware.
  • Database administration knowledge.
  • Microsoft SQL experience.
  • Understanding of ITIL principles.
  • Experience with SSL certificate configuration and implementation.
  • Relevant technical certifications are considered an advantage.
