Role purpose

  • High skilled engineer responsible for developing, testing and integration of consumer home connectivity CPE solutions, including hardware and software across fixed access technologies (Fiber/FTTH, Cable/DOCSIS) in Vodafone
  • Development, build and deployment of technical solutions for customer premise equipment (CPE) with a huge involvement in its software capabilities to be able to cover product requirements, feature changes as well technologies roadmap
  • Adapt product, customer requirements in the software stack running into CPEs with proper vendor involvement of deploying software capabilities, testing, certification and deploy it into new products or existing CPE installed base
  • Develop software testing environment focusing on automation and efficiency, improving the software lifecycle of the CPEs
  • Support in getting the right CPEs in terms of technology, hardware, and software capabilities for Vodafone fixed networks

Main activity

  • Manage all the relevant relationships with the local stakeholders in the countries (Product, IT, Customer Operations) and in Group Network various teams for CPE roadmap, new software features and product changes
  • Stimulate the identification of home connectivity solutions efficiency in hardware and software capabilities - assure execution of committed savings
  • Promote standardized software architectures, CPE models across fixed networks in Vodafone and migration to approved solutions/vendors, through feasibility analysis and business case assessment.
  • Document properly all the testing lifecycle outcome and promote testing automation
  • Analyse project requirements toward CPE functionalities
  • Plan and execute all the Functional, Interoperability & PerformanceTechnical detailed testing

With these skills, you are a great candidate

  • Deep knowledge of the telecommunication business and telco network architecture for CPEs in fixed services
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the working of GPON, XGS-PON, Ethernet & L2/L3 protocols, DOCSIS
  • Deep understanding of CPE technologies, software stacks and architecture in fixed networks
  • High skills and expertise in Wi-Fi standards and best practice configuration for home gateways and extenders
  • Familiar with testing environment, process, automation and software lifecycle in CPEs
  • University degree
  • Min. 5 years working in telecom industry
  • Knowledge of telecoms technologies such as IP (v4,v6), DOCSIS, WLAN, Wi-Fi, VOIP, GPON, XGS-PON
  • Good understanding of electrical engineering, technical process and software automation methodologies
  • Fluent in English
