Your place in the team 

The mission of the Data Team is to turn Vodafone into a Data and AI driven company that impress customers by personalized and relevant offering and outperform competitors in the long term. Data Governance is a crucial pillar in completing our objectives through assuring literacy, reliability, and quality of our data. Now we are looking for a new member of our Data Governance Team.

 

It’s a good opportunity to gain experience in how a big telco company’s data ecosystem works, participating actively in data assets’ governance processes. During your work you will have a full view not only on the data source and management side but on how these data are used by our business reports and big data models transforming them into business insights.  

You will be involved in the following tasks  

•Support in designing and operating the Data Governance framework at Vodafone Hungary, act as an ambassador of Data Governance function
•Ensuring coherence and integration of data quality framework with our corporate data governance policies and standards
•Monitoring and assessing daily results of our data quality report, identifying, and reporting data quality issues and implementing solutions in strong co-operation with related BI & IT teams
•Proactively expanding the data quality framework by identifying opportunities (uncovered data domains, data transformation issues, fulfilment of business needs, etc.) To improve data quality and integrity 
•Working with business and analytics teams to identify solutions to data quality issues guaranteeing smooth and reliable run of our business reports and KPIs
•Ensuring coherence and integration of data quality framework with our corporate data governance policies and standards
•Communicating the direct impact of data quality checks and balances on business decisions, improving users’ trust and confidence in the data products
•Supporting cross-functional teams in critical issues (e.g.: bug fixes, DWH deployments, KPI changes, etc) by making impact analyses based on end-to-end data lineage
•Keep up to date our Data Catalogue, business and technical metadata related to our main data domains, document new data sources


We are looking for you if you have
•3+ years working experience, 1-2 years in relevant area
•Ability to work effectively and efficiently as part of a team
•Motivated to learn and improve current skills and qualities
•Fluent English in written and oral 
•Ability to learn and translate business requirements into IT/technology related developments
•Confident SQL knowledge
•Experience with Python, BigQuery is a plus
•Strong analytic skills related to working with structured/unstructured datasets
•Interest and passion for working in a complex data domain and dynamic business environment, solving challenging problems, and supporting transformation
•Experience with any data governance tool is an advantage
•Telecommunication background is a plus
•Experience in data quality is plus, including:
    -Experience in data quality and management platforms, query, and scripting languages
    -Experience in identifying and resolving data quality issues 
    -Experience with data integration and data profiling tools, automation of processes
    -Experience with data standards and ontologies
    -Up-to-date expertise in data analysis with a focus on data quality and governance concepts
