Your place in the team 

As a member of our IT Infrastructure team, the Linux/Unix Specialist is responsible for operation and development of Vodafone Hungary Linux/Unix based system.
 In this role, the person is expected to have strong background in Linux/Unix System Administration and Operations with excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. The person should have a passion for automation and learning new skills and technologies.

You will be involved in the following tasks  

•Responsible for supporting Incidents resolution and problem analysis, identifying proper remediation action
•Responsible for ensuring a proper patching
•Managing, planning and coordination of upgrades of critical UNIX (Solaris / Linux) platforms
•Responsible for the planning, scheduling, and execution of all regular and complex maintenance changes, of all new service deployment changes, and of security related patching across the infrastructure.
•Continuous monitoring of performance and capacity metrics, and analyse the problems encountered to determine the causes and provide solutions for troubleshooting.
•Accountable for supporting any migrations
•Responsible for getting proper support from involved vendors and supporting infrastructure as well application team
•Performs problem determination, on Red Hat/Solaris-based systems and coordinates/performs resolution
•Maintains patches, intrusion detection, and hardening processes in conjunction with policies and guidelines.
•Configure and maintain UNIX/Linux servers 
•Manage HA cluster configurations and ensure redundancy for top services on infrastructure level
•Provide 24x7 support on a rota basis for complex configuration requirements and manage operating systems bug related problems.


We are looking for you if you have 

•5 years’ experience in operating of infrastructure in Datacentre and Public Cloud environments (GCP, AWS)
•5 years’ experience performing Linux system administration (Red Hat preferred) including installation, maintenance, upgrade, configuration, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and resolving operating system issues
•Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues
•Ability to prioritize and manage multiple support requests
•Experience supporting large enterprise systems
•Experience with x86 based server management
•Experience with networking, DNS, NFS, backups, monitoring, alerting, logging
•Veritas HA knowledge
•A working knowledge of the Oracle Solaris operating system, LDOMs, ZFS file systems, and Zone
•VMware administration experience
•Experience with complex multi-site and global environments 
•Advanced English language
