Legal Counsel

(maternity cover)

 

Your role in a nutshell:

 

Provide legal support to the supply chain function in Vodafone Group Services entities (including VGSL), in relation to all legal matters of relevance for procurement activities. To work on a day-to-day basis directly with sourcing specialists and to interact closely with the Technology & Outsourcing (T&O) legal and VPC legal team. Contribute to "transformation" activities intended to facilitate smarter working, enable self-service of the client base and enhance efficiency across the legal teams involved in VGS SCM activities

 

What you’ll do:

 

• Review and draft relevant agreements and other documents relating to the role purpose and support commercial colleagues in the negotiation with suppliers and other third parties to achieve contractual arrangements 
   which accurately reflect the business requirements.
• Provide the business with accurate, timely and first class pragmatic legal support by understanding key commercial drivers and providing clear, practical and robust advice which facilitates business needs whilst mitigating     key risks and challenges.
• Provide the business with tools to allow it to undertake self-service activity without undue reliance on T&O, VPC and Legal & Business Integrity (e.g. training, precedents, guidance notes and toolkits).
• Work effectively and collaboratively with team members, key stakeholders and other teams, including Local Market Legal teams, other teams in SCM, VPC, Legal & Business Integrity, Group and Local Technology, Group      Finance and other business functions.
• Work with specialist and subject matter experts including intellectual property, privacy and data protection, tax, finance, operations, regulatory and compliance to assist in all matters related to the role purpose

What you’ll bring to the team
 

 

• Experience of leading the legal support on commercial agreements, projects or subsets of larger projects.
• Good commercial understanding and proven track record of delivery against tight timelines.
• Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills; ability to present authoritatively to internal and external stakeholders to ensure appropriate protection of Vodafone's interests, whilst concentrating on the issues that really        matter.
• Ability to communicate with impact; offering logical analysis and commercial legal advice to senior audiences using a variety of communication styles.
• Influencing, bridging and negotiating skills (verbal and written).
• Good knowledge of relevant law and awareness of legal and commercial developments that may affect the Vodafone business.
