Legal Counsel


 

Your role in a nutshell: 

Support Vodafone’s Voice & Roaming Services (VRS) in relation to legal matters, including international roaming agreements, roaming wholesale business, roaming operations, new business projects, and new technology projects, and contribute to VRS compliance programmes and industry initiatives. The role also supports VRS’s transformation initiatives aimed at enabling smart digital working and at promoting best practices, standardisation and simplification. Work closely with and support the Corporate Centre legal team and the Vodafone Legal & Business Integrity department in driving cross-functional initiatives and collaboration (“the “Responsible Areas”).

 

 

 What you’ll do:

• Draft and advise on agreements in relation to Responsible Areas (including international roaming agreements) and provide legal support to commercial colleagues in their negotiations to achieve contractual arrangements which accurately reflect business requirements.
• Provide advisory legal support in relation to the development and in-life management of VRS services (including, but not limited to advising on applicable law and regulation), and identifying and mitigating risks and assisting in providing solutions to legal challenges.
• Co-ordinate with colleagues in Legal & Business Integrity and Local Market Legal department to ensure that all relevant legal issues are identified and appropriate support provided.
• Provide support in VRS compliance programme (in areas such as anti-bribery, sanctions, competition law, and data privacy) and in VRS industry initiatives to promote best practice.
• Work and collaborate with Intellectual Property Rights, Data Protection, Tax, Finance, Operations, Regulatory and other VRS, Vodafone Business, Group and Local Market functions to assist in all matters related to Responsible Areas.
• Support and work closely and effectively with colleagues from the commercial, wholesale and, operations teams in relation to VRS contracts and arrangements.
• Maintain contacts with internal stakeholders to provide for effective delivery of support for the Responsible Areas.

What you will bring to the team:

• Professional legal qualification
• Relevant post-qualification experience in a commercial legal role dealing with complex matters and varied commercial agreements, compliance and other legal matters
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Commercially aware
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• Experience in working as part of a team
• Experience in reviewing, negotiating and drafting commercial contracts in English and advising on compliance and/or regulatory matters in English
• Proven problem solving and analytical skills
