Legal Manager - VSOL Contracting

What you’ll do

We are seeking a Legal Manager to lead the Contracting & Procurement legal function within VOIS Commercial Operations, based in Budapest. This senior-level role is responsible for managing a team of experienced legal professionals, overseeing complex contract negotiations with global customers and suppliers, and driving strategic legal initiatives. The individual will play a pivotal role in shaping the legal roadmap for VSOL contracting, ensuring legal excellence, operational efficiency, and alignment with business objectives across multiple global business lines.

Key Responsibilties 

• Lead and mentor a team of senior legal professionals specialising in contract negotiations, data privacy, and regulatory matters.
• Oversee negotiations of bespoke contracts valued up to €200 million with multinational corporations and industry consortiums.
• Provide strategic legal advice and sign-off on major risks, collaborating with senior stakeholders across the business.
• Handle escalations and advise senior leadership teams, aligning legal support with business strategy.
• Drive continuous improvement and transformation of the legal contracting process, including automation and AI integration.
• Serve as the single point of contact for process development and legal contracting efficiency initiatives.
• Collaborate with legal teams across markets to share best practices and ensure seamless access to legal knowledge.
• Supervise and train senior lawyers, ensuring quality control and professional development.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement within the legal team.

Who you are

• A qualified legal professional with a law degree and bar exam certification.
• 10+ years of post-qualification experience, including 5+ years in a multinational technology company’s legal department.
• Proven expertise in negotiating commercial contracts under English law, particularly in the telecommunications sector.
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills, with a pragmatic and solution-oriented mindset.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing a team of senior lawyers.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.
• Commercially astute, resilient, and adaptable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Committed to innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
