Your role in a nutshell:

 

 

To manage bid pricing activities and lead the commercial pricing decision-making. To create commercial propositions for Vodafone’s enterprise clients that meet customer’s as well as Vodafone’s internal business requirements. To collect, collate and validate inputs from sales teams, customers and other internal functions to understand and articulate commercial options during the preparation of bid pricing to the client. To provide pricing activities on single country and/or global business opportunities across the sales organization for mobility and/or fixed products and/or multitower bids.  To understand the customer's goals and requirements, to create pricing strategy for deals, to structure commercial propositions and make recommendations all along the life-cycle of an offer from qualification till contract signature while ensuring profitability for Vodafone. To ensure alignment across a robust set of internal stakeholders behind the opportunity strategy.  To influence the customers’ decision trough quality proposals, taking into account especially the commercial aspects and building trust in client meetings. To ensure that the introduced tariffs are profitable and market sensitive across multiple geographies. Owns and drives the appropriate opportunity governance and manage a virtual project team from a pool of onshore and offshore resources.

What you’ll do:

 

• Creates/ structures complex commercial propositions; ensures customer needs are addressed as well as Vodafone’s key financial requirements while acting as a single point of contract for commercial bid strategy. Manages the customer relationship on senior management level.
• Proactively leads the commercial pricing decision-making across multiple products and services for multinational enterprise customers. Proactively recognizes the clients’ needs and drives recommendations for solutions which bring benefit to the customer. 
• Based on an understanding of market dynamics, product life-cycles and customer’s requirements, works with the sales teams in creating a pricing strategy for deals and structuring commercial propositions. Makes recommendations all along the life-cycle of the offer from qualification till contract signature. 
• Responsible for supporting the corporate account team in building the responses to new and existing customer fixed solutions.
• Working closely with the account team and the customer to understand their stated and underlying business needs to ensure that the Vodafone bid meets these requirements, and the value proposition is fully understood.
• Analysis of bids in order to ensure profitability using standard business modelling techniques and the production of P&Ls to deliver clearly articulated and unambiguous profitability measures.
• Delivers and presents customer usage information to the business, analyses profitability for forecasting and planning. 
• Gives professional guidance to team members and shares knowledge. Drives cross-functional learning reviews, identifies administrative/organizational tasks for audit and tracking purposes.
• Engage with other business units and develop strong, collaborative cross functional relationships within Enterprise (especially Sales) and Finance
• Influences the customers’ decision-making process through quality proposal material and building trust in client meetings; participates in customer negotiations.
• Based on a high-level understanding of technically bespoke solutions, assesses implications of changes compared to standard offerings.
• Manages complex opportunities, customer relations and risks associated with bidding/ no-bidding. Constantly evaluating the win chances while also evaluating profitable growth for Vodafone.
• Analyse customer value for both acquisition and retention customers.
• Drive appropriate pricing strategy to win and grow business
• Facilitates full risk management including identification, monetization, mitigation and associated contingency building to save Vodafone from financial, legal and other business risk all over the bid lifecycle. 
• Based on an understanding of various contracting possibilities and main legal/ commercial terms and conditions, proposes the best fit alternative for the given opportunity.
• Participates in knowledge sharing initiatives, buddies and mentors experienced colleagues.
• Manages the complexity of the Vodafone organizations towards the customer - representing the global view.
• Recognizes the clients’ needs and recommends solutions which bring benefit to the customer.
• Takes part in bid qualification meetings involving all functions on deals allocated for such activity. Makes sound qualification recommendations based on inputs received.
• Driving efficiency in our commercial approach through streamlining processes and deploying templates and tools
• Identify new pricing approaches and opportunities to differentiate on bespoke deals vs our competitors
• Ensure that new commercial approaches can be operationally delivered and provide an optimum customer experience

What you’ll bring to the team
 

 

• Over 3 years of experience in developing commercial & pricing propositions 
• experience in customer facing negotiations
• wholesale telecom experience (desired) 
• Understanding of fixed, mobile and UC solutions sets (desired)
• Excellent relationship builder, with the necessary personal impact to build credibility with customers, account and sales managers 
• Ability to understand issues at both operational and strategic levels and to influence stakeholders to action
• management accounting experience (desired) 
• fluent English
• Business/math knowledge
• Advanced excel and data mining skills
• Proven attention to detail and accuracy of output in a financial environment 
• Risk management experience (desired)
• Able to work and reprioritise within a changing environment and cope with ambiguity.
• Able to analyse problems, delivering practical and innovative solutions critical to business needs
• Decision making capability. The ability to balance conflicting priorities and strong, individual personalities
• Ability to balance conflicting interests and make decisions based on incomplete or unreliable information
