Safety, Health and Wellbeing Lead

 

 

(Please note that this position is not a people management role, but rather a senior-level role within the health and safety function)

 

Your role in a nutshell:

 

 

Lead the occupational safety prevention and protection process inside VOIS Hungary. Collaborate with external SHW supplier to ensure a higher level of compliance. Provide professional and technical guidance on all SHW issues within the company. Ensure that SHW processes are focused on risk reduction in all VOIS projects. Provide the necessary tools and support for the successful delivery of all SHW activities

 

 

What you’ll do:

 

 

  • Facilitates the development of the SHW strategy and its inclusion in the company's SHW Plan.
  • Provides technical support regarding SHW for all business areas.
  • Monitors the timely delivery of all SHW action plans (annual, following incidents, audits, inspections or lessons learned from other VOIS centers)
  • Reviews and provides technical support for all programs that control the main risks in the company's activities.
  • Provides leadership training and support for management teams.
  • Provides SHW input for key decisions within the company.
  • Provides coordination and professional support for SHW incidents, by identifying root causes, defining and implementing appropriate preventive actions.
  • Defines training programs according to the associated risks and ensures that company employees and contractors are properly trained.
  • Ensure clear communication, understanding and compliance of Vodafone requirements by all suppliers
  • Implement, monitor, analyse and report on activities to ensure compliance (including suppliers)
  • Review supplier SHW plans for high risk projects/contracts
  • Periodically review databases of all high risk suppliers.
  • Support the management team in interpreting Vodafone Group requirements and delivering them to VOIS HU as a minimum
    Identify the need to secure, contract and manage any external SHW technical support required to deliver SHW processes.
  • Represent the company in relation to authorities on SHW issues, delivery of safety workshops and introductory training (New Hire Orientation).
  • Prepare the SHW training agenda, as well as SHW communications.
  • Manages the appropriate legal documentation regarding health and safety at the company level
  • Actively participates in local and global projects that have an impact in the area of activity under coordination (e.g. audits, urgent requirements, visits, requests, etc.)

 

 

 

What you’ll bring to the team:

 

 

  • Attention to detail, credibility, focus on deadlines, stress resistance, strategic thinking, project management skills and exceptional planning.
  • Knowledge of Vodafone “Doing What’s Right” standards and policies is a main advantage.
  • Ability to support operational decisions, taking into account the impact and possible experiences of the internal customer.
  • Obvious auditor skills, synthesis and reporting capacity.
  • Good mediator, speaker, with persuasive power, able to support the implementation of particular or additional requirements in relation to employees or contractors.
  • Advanced English and MS Office skills
  • Experience of management systems based on the principle of continuous improvement (PDCA) and non-conformity management.
  • Experience in detailing and applying risk management techniques.
  • Skills in managing and relating to suppliers.
  • High degree of understanding and interpretation of local legislation in the field of Health and Safety at Work.
  • Depending on the above, experience in the SHW field will be an advantage.
