Senior UX Designer


Your role in a nutshell: 

As a Senior UX Designer, you would be directly embedded in the workflows of Group Design Studio.  

The Group Design Studio is a global Centre of Excellence providing Vodafone Group and local markets with strategic design guidance, with a vision to “design digital experiences our customers love”. We strive for experience excellence using the double diamond design methodology & principles. Design Studio creates reference designs for Vodafone Group and every design project (be it service, product, user experience or other) is measured against the highest levels of design standards.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating engaging user experiences and a genuine understanding of the power of strong design to drive commercial objectives 

You can expect to be working on various projects and platforms, such as the strategically highlighted My Vodafone Application, other mobile apps, chatbots, web, e-commerce, retail platforms, or other omnichannel user journeys from physical to digital, rolled out to numerous markets worldwide

Your tasks will predominantly be related to UX design, such as defining task flows, creating wireframes, defining IA, and prototyping and create high-fidelity mockups. Apart from everyday UX tasks, you will be identifying needs for usability testing and user research and supporting the UX Research department by building prototypes.


What your job will look like:
• Create wireframes, define UX requirements, use cases, concept visualisation, prototypes, interaction patterns
• Design low and high-fidelity mockups
• Identify needs for usability testing and user research; prepare prototypes for user testing: iterate UX designs based on the results from user testing
• Improve and maintain UX standards, processes and Vodafone design guidelines in collaboration with other UX and UI professionals
• Evaluate the performance of conceptual designs based on Group UX KPIs
• Deliver design presentations to senior stakeholders
• Identify UX quality issues to developers and negotiate appropriate UX solutions 
• Evolve UX quality assessment protocol and reporting across channels
• Ensure stakeholder communication and alignment
• Communicate with Creative Directors, stakeholders, engineers and fellow designers to ensure that the delivery of the designs is according to and aligned with brand and UX guidelines
• Act as the champion for the customers
• Mentor and upskill peers in user experience design, participate in peer reviews of work, influence the ways of thinking when it comes to user research and user focus

What you will bring to the team:
• Fluent English – this is crucial as your direct team members are going to be from the UK
6+ years of working experience in UX design, with relevant experience in mobile related businesses and experience in a commercial product and/or service development environment
• Experience with the following tools: Sketch/InVision/Figma 
• Demonstrate wireframing and prototyping skills
• Ability to work independently but also capable of collaboration within a team 
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to understand and respond to the challenges and cultural factors in working across an international group
