Sourcing Specialist - Experienced

 

 


Role purpose: To search local market suppliers and screen them under the strategic guidance of Vodafone Procurement Company's (VPC) category managers. To negotiate and contract with suppliers, to manage them and optimize their performance.

 

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • Assessment of the relevant spend & relevant supplier market of the Category supported
  • Supports the development of a category strategy for the managed spend, in line with overall SCM strategy
  • Day to day management of the Vodafone suppliers and optimization of supplier performance in the given category
  • Execute assigned sourcing activities, deliver category reports, execute RFPs / RFIs, manage the assigned spend for categories in scope, conclusion of contracts with suppliers
  • Provide operational sourcing support to the Category Manager/s supported
  • Accountable for delivering own migration, spend and savings targets
  • Advises on new approaches, proposes continuous improvement of processes and procedures.

 

What you’ll bring to the team:

 

  • Previous experience or exposure to procurement or sourcing activities
  • Ability to leverage Vodafone’s global scale and scope with global suppliers
  • Good commercial and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical skills & well developed written & verbal communication skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with external suppliers ranging from short term tactical engagements to long term strategic partnerships
  • Fluent English skills, (German preferred)
  • Strong commercial background
  • 1-3 years of experience in vendor management, procurement or purchase to pay operations is required, preferably in a similar industry
  • Ability to operate effectively in a changing and multicultural environment
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent;
