Strategic Competitor Intelligence Expert

 

 

Your role in a nutshell:
 

 

You will be responsible for managing and delivering ongoing competitor intelligence activities for Vodafone Business. You will develop a deep understanding of our competitors and their strategies, actions, and performance across markets, product areas and customer segments via leveraging a number of information sources, e.g. earnings calls, databases, and analyst briefings.

In addition, as a part of the broader Strategy & Corporate development team, you will support delivery of strategy engagements, e.g. relating to researching market and competitor dynamic.

 

 

 

What you’ll do:
 

 

 

  • Monitor identified competitors’ strategic announcements, earnings calls, major events, analyst briefings etc., and provide synthesized summaries for Vodafone Business executives (SLT-level and above)
  • Continuously track the evolution of identified competitors’ strategies and performance
  • Develop executive-level answers and presentations on ad-hoc questions relating to competitor strategies, actions, and performance
  • Provide regular inputs for ExCo updates on competitor intelligence
  • Deliver assigned research tasks related to strategy engagements

 

 

What you’ll bring to the team:
 

 

 

  • University degree (BSc or higher) in Business, Economics, Finance or a numerical discipline (Maths, Science, Engineering)
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in analyzing competitive landscape / financial performance & providing strategic insights or Financial / Management Consulting background (Telco/ICT industry knowledge is an advantage)
  • Strong understanding of the telco and ICT market, its products, and key players
  • High level of commercial awareness and strategic thinking to identify the meaning and strategic implications of competitor moves
  • Persuasive and articulate, capable of dealing with all levels of management
  • Enthusiastic with willingness to learn and can-do attitude
  • High attention to detail while able to work with incomplete data sets 
  • Self-driven and ability to meet timelines
  • Advanced PowerPoint skills 
  • Advanced Excel skills
