Strategic Competitor Intelligence Expert
Your role in a nutshell:
You will be responsible for managing and delivering ongoing competitor intelligence activities for Vodafone Business. You will develop a deep understanding of our competitors and their strategies, actions, and performance across markets, product areas and customer segments via leveraging a number of information sources, e.g. earnings calls, databases, and analyst briefings.
In addition, as a part of the broader Strategy & Corporate development team, you will support the delivery of strategy projects, e.g. relating to researching market and competitor dynamics.
We are looking for a candidate with a proactive mindset, who can understand senior stakeholder needs, improve & evolve the competitor activities and drive strategic topics.
What you’ll do:
- Monitor competitors’ strategic announcements, earnings calls, major events, analyst briefings etc., and provide synthesized summaries, Vodafone Business executives (SLT-level and above)
- Continuously track the evolution of competitors’ strategies and performance, identify new and innovative solutions (e.g. AI based tracking mechanisms)
- Recognize disruptors on the market (e.g. hyperscalers /managed service providers) and monitor their activities
- Develop executive-level answers and presentations on ad-hoc questions relating to competitor strategies, actions, and performance
- Provide regular inputs for ExCo updates on competitor intelligence
- Deliver assigned research tasks related to B2B strategy projects and strategic insights, recommendations
What you’ll bring to the team:
- University degree (BSc or higher) in Business, Economics, Finance
- At least 2-4 years of experience in Management Consulting or analyzing market / commercial / competitive landscape & providing strategic insights (Telco/ICT industry knowledge is an advantage)
- Strong interest & motivation in the telco and ICT market, its products, and key players
- High level of commercial awareness and strategic thinking to identify the meaning and strategic implications of competitor moves
- Persuasive and articulate, capable of dealing with all levels of management
- Enthusiastic with willingness to learn and can-do attitude
- High attention to detail while able to work with incomplete data sets
- Self-driven and ability to meet timelines
- Advanced PowerPoint skills
- Advanced Excel skills
