About this Role

We are seeking a Tax Accountant to support global tax operations by extracting, analysing, and maintaining accounting data for tax purposes. This role plays a key part in ensuring tax compliance, accurate reporting, and timely delivery of tax-related outputs for local tax teams across multiple countries. Based in Budapest, the role sits within Advanced Finance and contributes to high-quality tax data management and operational excellence.

What you’ll do

  • Extract and analyse accounting data to support tax calculations and statutory returns.
  • Prepare tax calculations, adjustments, payments, and returns in line with local requirements.
  • Maintain and update tax master data, including commodity codes, weights, tax classifications, and VAT numbers.
  • Review vendor invoices to ensure tax compliance prior to posting in the ERP system.
  • Prepare manual tax adjustments where data is not captured in ERP systems.
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and follow up on open items.
  • Monitor tax rates and ensure correct tax settings within ERP systems.
  • Respond to ad hoc tax coding and data queries from stakeholders across the business.

Who you are

  • An individual with exposure to an accounting or finance environment.
  • Someone with a basic understanding of tax principles, or a strong willingness to build tax knowledge.
  • Highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Detail-oriented, with a strong focus on accuracy and data quality.
  • Customer-focused, with a collaborative and service-oriented mindset.
  • Fluent in English; additional European language skills are considered an advantage.
