About this Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Tax Accountant to join our Advanced Finance team in Budapest. In this role, you will support global tax operations by analysing accounting data, preparing tax calculations and tax-related adjustments, maintaining tax master data, and ensuring compliance across financial processes. This opportunity is ideal for individuals with exposure to an accounting environment who enjoy working with data, collaborating with stakeholders, and delivering accurate, deadline-driven outcomes.

What you’ll do

  • Maintain tax-related master data, including commodity codes, weights, tax classifications, and VAT numbers.
  • Respond to tax coding and compliance-related queries from various business stakeholders within the ERP environment.
  • Review vendor invoices to ensure tax compliance before posting.
  • Prepare manual tax adjustments where transactions have not been recorded correctly within ERP systems.
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and proactively resolve outstanding items.
  • Monitor tax rates and maintain accurate tax settings within ERP systems.
  • Support the preparation of tax calculations, returns, payments, and reports for local tax teams across multiple countries.

Who you are

  • Experience working in an accounting or finance environment.
  • Understanding of basic tax principles; practical tax experience is advantageous.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Customer-focused approach and strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Additional European language skills are advantageous
