About this Role
The role is pivotal in strengthening import/export controls, sanctions compliance, customs obligations, and associated governance, while enabling commercial agility and innovation in a complex, multi-jurisdictional environment.
What you’ll do
- Lead Vodafone’s global trade compliance transformation programme, ensuring alignment with Group strategy.
- Design and implement a harmonised trade compliance operating model across Group and Local Markets.
- Embed trade compliance controls into core systems, tools, and data platforms to enable technology-led compliance.
- Ensure alignment with UK, EU, US, and international trade and sanctions regulations, managing Group-level risk.
- Partner closely with stakeholders across Compliance, Supply Chain, Technology, Legal, and Local Markets to drive adoption and ownership.
- Lead change management activities, including communications, training, and capability uplift across markets.
- Establish sustainable business-as-usual ownership, monitor regulatory developments, and drive continuous improvement of the trade compliance framework.
Who you are
- You bring a minimum of 5 years’ experience in trade compliance within a multi-jurisdictional environment.
- You have strong knowledge of trade compliance, sanctions, and export control systems and the data that underpins them.
- You demonstrate good working knowledge of UK, EU, and US export control requirements.
- You have at least 3 years’ experience in project or programme management, with a proven track record of delivery to time and budget.
- You are confident in influencing and engaging stakeholders across geographies and cultures.
- You communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally.
- You are fluent in English; additional language skills are an advantage.
- You hold a degree in law, accounting, programme management, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- An internationally recognised trade compliance or sanctions qualification (for example, ICA Diploma) is a strong advantage.
