Base Transmission Station (BTS) Physical
Role Purpose:
The Base Transmission Station (BTS) Physical Security associate Manager is responsible for ensuring the security and protection of telecommunications infrastructure, including BTS sites, network towers, and associated facilities. This role involves managing security operations, preventing unauthorized access, mitigating risks, and ensuring compliance with security standards. The associate manager collaborates with internal teams, external security vendors, and law enforcement agencies to safeguard critical network assets.
What you’ll do
1. BTS Site Security Management:
• Develop and implement physical security policies and procedures for BTS sites and network facilities.
• Oversee the installation, maintenance, and operation of security systems, including CCTV, access control, perimeter fencing, alarms, and lighting.
• Conduct regular security audits, risk assessments, and site inspections to identify and address vulnerabilities.
• Monitor security incidents and respond promptly to breaches, thefts, or vandalism.
2.Budget Planning & Development:
• Develop and implement the function annual budget in coordination with network rollout, site security enhancements and the previous risk assessment.
• Track and review budget performance, ensuring adherence to financial plans.
• Analyze variances between actual and budgeted expenditures, identifying areas of improvement.
• Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on budget performance to senior management.
3. Access Control & Surveillance:
• Manage access control for personnel, contractors, and visitors at BTS sites.
• Ensure that only authorized individuals access critical infrastructure and maintain detailed access logs.
• Implement and monitor remote surveillance systems for real-time security oversight.
4. Risk Management & Compliance:
• Identify and assess physical security risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards for telecom infrastructure security.
• Conduct security awareness training for staff, security personnel, and contractors.
• Develop and maintain security documentation, including incident reports and emergency response plans.
5. Security Operations & Incident Response:
• Establish emergency response procedures for security breaches, power failures, and natural disasters.
• Investigate security incidents, thefts, or damages, coordinating with law enforcement as needed.
• Lead crisis management efforts, ensuring minimal disruption to network operations.
6. Vendor & Stakeholder Management:
• Oversee third-party security service providers, ensuring service quality and compliance with contracts.
• Collaborate with network operations teams, facilities management, and government authorities to enhance site security.
• Coordinate with law enforcement agencies for incident investigations and threat intelligence sharing.
Skills Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, , Criminal Justice, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in physical security management, preferably in the telecom industry or critical infrastructure protection.
• Strong knowledge of access control systems, perimeter security, video surveillance, and alarm monitoring.
• Familiarity with regulatory security requirements for telecommunications infrastructure.
• Experience conducting risk assessments, security audits, and incident investigations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in remote locations and travel frequently to BTS sites.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., PSP, CPP, CISM) are a plus.
