Role Purpose:


Vodafone IoT is a leading provider of Internet of Things (IoT) services, recognized for its extensive experience and global reach. This role is to part of the IoT SCM – Supply Chain Management team. It will include handling all SCM activities.

The work will entail driving ownership across IoT SCM processes. You will manage the end-to-end contract life cycle, oversee and run the process for onboarding vendors and suppliers, contribute to the strategic sourcing strategies, manage supplier relationships, run sourcing processes like RFPs, RFQs, and e-auctions, conduct quarterly service and business reviews, identify and realize cost optimization opportunities, handle annual service renewals, and work with data to support the team make informed decisions.     

The Role will play an important part in driving the commercial evolution for IoT services through it’s third-party suppliers and effectively managing cost and budget, enriching our engagement with businesses stakeholders, and effectively manage global benchmarking for both local and global suppliers.

As a Business Transformation – Supply Chain, you will be responsible for the execution of Vodafone IoT’s supply chain strategy to support business requirements and key projects, in accordance with relevant sourcing practices and policies. You will be part of a new function specific for IoT, managing existing supply relationships via Vodafone Procurement Company (VPC), direct with other Vodafone entities for existing and new services, and support future direct sourcing needs for IoT including critical supply arrangements for procurement and in-life contract management. 

In this role you will manage sourcing activities and drive the contract, price and terms negotiations, to deliver a competitive advantage and demonstrate value add whilst securing the delivery of projects, products and services across the areas in a timely manner,thus managing risk.

 

Key responsibilities include:


•    Manage the end-to-end contract life cycle: Oversee all stages of contract management from initiation to renewal and termination.
•    Onboard and extend vendors and suppliers: Ensure smooth and efficient onboarding of new vendors and suppliers into the system and extension of global suppliers into the local market.
•    Contribute to strategic sourcing strategies: Develop and implement strategies to support strategic sourcing and procurement.
•    Manage supplier relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure high-quality service and collaboration.
•    Run sourcing processes: Conduct RFPs, RFQs, and e-auctions to identify and select the best suppliers.
 

 

Conduct quarterly service and business reviews: Regularly review supplier performance and business outcomes to ensure alignment with contractual KPIs, SLAs, and business needs.
•    Identify and realize cost optimization opportunities: Continuously seek ways to reduce costs without compromising quality.
•    Handle annual service renewals: Manage the renewal process for ongoing services to ensure business continuity, commercial cover, and added value.
•    Work with data to support decision-making: Analyze data to provide insights and support informed decision-making within the team.
•    Drive commercial evolution for IoT services: Enhance commercial strategies through effective management of third-party suppliers, cost, and budget, and engage with business stakeholders for global benchmarking.
•    Work in close collaboration with the Vodafone IoT Technology team to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities, reliability, and competitiveness 
•    Work with the Vodafone Procurement Company to coordinate requirements and define sourcing strategies and activities for suppliers 
•    Perform, conduct and support RFIs and RFPs to identify the right Products & Services to fulfil the IoT Roadmap with demand and sustainable business
•    Manage and lead supplier commercial relationships including prices, terms and contracting, leveraging on the respective core teams 
•    Lead contract negotiations with respective suppliers and deliver in a timely and quality manner e.g. contract management, contract amendments, project variation agreements. 
•    Control the implementation of and adherence to contracts. Draft new schedules and update existing contracts according to regulations or legislation in collaboration with legal, privacy, commercial and account teams
•    Cross-functional owner and coordinator of relevant supplier on-boarding, engaging stakeholders to co-ordinate the interface with suppliers
•    Lead escalations towards supplier topics and manage supplier performance, business risks, reporting and operational controls to track escalated issues to closure

•    Act as a focal point for the IoT Technology team and ensure business needs are being represented and incorporated into procurement plans and execution
•    Negotiations to deliver the best possible outcomes for cost, quality, delivery, and ensure interlock with business owners
•    Ability to manage multiple projects combined with the drive to make decisions and finalise deals
•    Effective influencing and communication skills, with the ability to engage with virtual teams 
 


 

 

Developed, negotiated, implemented, and managed high-value, high-impact global supplier contracts.
•    Worked with global category teams across multiple categories or local SCM teams. 
•    The ability to plan and manage key deliverable milestones, prioritising when appropriate and handling escalations.
•    Deep understanding of sourcing and procurement disciplines and strong commercial and negotiation skills.
•    Strategic thinking with the ability and appetite to influence wider business strategies.
•    Track record of getting stakeholders with diverse interests and backgrounds aligned and working collaboratively towards common goals. 
•    Proven experience in leading effective sourcing governance at the senior executive level of an organization.
•    Ability to communicate and present with impact both verbally and in writing.
•    Telecom experience is a plus.
•    Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) is a plus.
•    Ability to work independently and to establish priorities.

Core Competencies:


•    8 Years overall Experience in Telco or IT industry 
•    Minimum 5 years proven experience in supply chain management handling a similar role.
•    Bachelor's degree in business or relevant area of study.
•    Excellent contract negotiation and stakeholder management skills
•    Cross-functional thinking and acting
•    Sound understanding of Telco technology, products and supply
•    Highly organised, curious (“Why” person) and capable of delving into root causes.
•    Experience in working and building a trusted relationship with key senior stakeholders in a complex organisation.
•    Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, governance structures for complex organisations and process management and design.
•    Agile ways of working and experience is highly desirable.
•    Strong analytical skills to understand and rely on data, metrics and KPIs across the organisation.
•    Exceptional organisational skills, along with personal tenacity and agility to drive through to conclusion in a dynamic and challenging environment.
•    Exceptional oral and written communication skills and proficient and proven use of the latest digital mediums (e.g. Teams, Sharepoint, MS Engage, etc).
