What you’ll do

The Category Lead manages procurement activities across the category. Ensuring that cost savings are delivered and cost management structures are leveraged through effective negotiations and securing favourable terms and volume discounts, achieving measurable value for Vodafone. Typically reports to the Senior Category Manager or Head of Category.

Who you are

* Leads and supports sourcing projects for the category / categories from requirement gathering to contracting;

* Leads and supports sourcing activities, (e.g. launches e-auction / RFPs / RFIs / RFQs) and drives significant cost savings;

* Ensures the purchasing and contracting activities are executed in a professional way, in line with Vodafone standards and local targets and suggests improvements;

* Ensures savings are effectively delivered against category targets and timeframes;

* Demonstrates sound negotiating techniques to enable cost and value management and Develop negotiation strategies in accordance with the agreed procurement models for these activities;

* Ensures the effective use of performance management and measurement tools (e.g. OneSCM�s supplier capability tool) to drive improvements against agreed performance/cost improvement goals and to facilitate best practice amongst team members / colleagues;

* May contribute to global policy design and ensures compliance to policies locally;

* Develops commercial models for supplier / agency remuneration, creating insight into the supplier landscape and driving optimizations;

* Works in close cooperation with markets for the update of spend, savings, as well as reporting;

* Implements plans and KPIs based upon an accurate assessment of the operational environment, available resources and identified project dependencies;

* Pro-actively engages with stakeholders locally / globally to include other Category Managers;

* May mentor junior members of the Category Management team.
