Role purpose:

Delivery managers focus on completing projects, controlling business processes, and making a company effective. Their focus on delivering a finished product or service may require them to prioritize a team's tasks based on improvements that need to be made to the product. Supervise projects using agile project management techniques. Improvement for them means measuring the information technology services and changing delivery processes to boost customer satisfaction. First, they work with product managers/owners to define the plan for delivery. Then, they support/enable technical leaders as they innovate new ways to deliver software products to customers. Finally, they focus on customer satisfaction and helping a company run efficiently adhering with delivery KPIs, Resources and Budget

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

•    Analyse customer requirements, set delivery priorities and make schedule adjustments to meet timely delivery goals and coordinate delivery activities
•    To manage the successful delivery of projects on time and of the right quality
•    Work on production of comprehensive project plans to enable the project to be managed against a clear set of defined deliverables and milestones
•    Monitoring, measuring, reviewing and updating project process, adjusting project plans and implementing remedial plans and informing all relevant parties
•    To conduct an evaluation of the project and any follow-on action recommendations as required
•    To provide leadership to those involved in the project by defining work and ensuring deadlines are understood and adhered to and that project objectives are clearly articulated and understood
•    To ensure project requirements and resource levels are fully supported and approved throughout the lifecycle of the project, including staffing and budget
•    Provide and maintain regular governance status reporting to product manager/owners and customer including status, risks, action plans and performance
•    Build positive and productive working relationships with customers for business growth
 

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

•    Previous experience of IT operations and application ownership in a large organization 
•    Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation and influencing skills
•    Demonstrated learning agility and ability to rapidly adjust to new contexts, technologies and trends
•    Proven ability to consult and facilitate discussions regarding alternative approaches and to broker consensus across broad stakeholder groups
•    Strong stakeholder management, planning, organization, decision making and time management skills
•    Ability to prioritize, multi-task and effectively delegate
•    High level of flexibility with a strong ability to lead others successfully through cultural, process, system and transformational change
•    Proactive attitude for finding solutions and getting work delivered with best quality
 

Must have technical / professional qualifications:

•    Understanding of budget elements planning and tracking
•    Working knowledge of information technology and technology industry trends and issues 
•    Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 platforms 
•    Previous experience leading a team in a distributed model
•    Excellent knowledge/experience in the application of Agile and lean approaches
•    Experience in leading teams through periods of change
