What you’ll do

This role at Vodafone is responsible for developing and executing demand planning strategies to ensure the right devices (smartphones, tablets, IoT devices, accessories, etc.) are available at the right time, in the right quantities, and at the right locations to meet customer demand and support Vodafone’s commercial goals. This role involves analyzing market trends, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and leveraging data-driven insights to create accurate demand forecasts.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in demand planning, analytics, and supply chain management within the telecommunications or consumer electronics industry.

Who you are

Key accountabilities:

  • Develop, Implement, and maintain robust demand planning processes to accurately forecast device sales and adjust inventory levels, minimizing overstocking and stockouts using historical sales data, market trends, promotional plans, and business intelligence.
  • Collaborate with commercial, marketing, and sales teams to align demand forecasts with product launches, promotional campaigns, and business strategies.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer behavior to refine forecasts and ensure Vodafone remains competitive.
  • Create scenario-based forecasts to account for uncertainties such as seasonality, market shifts, and new product introductions.
  • Analyze sales data, inventory levels, and market trends.
  • Prepare and present detailed demand planning reports to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting key insights, risks, and opportunities.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as forecast accuracy, inventory turnover, out of stock position, and sales performance.
  • Identify and address gaps between forecasted and actual demand, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Work closely with commercial, marketing, and sales teams to understand customer needs, promotional plans, and product launch timelines.
  • Partner with vendor management and logistics teams to ensure demand forecasts are aligned with supply capabilities and inventory targets.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to ensure demand plans support financial objectives and budget constraints.
  • Ensure optimal stock levels and minimize excess or obsolete inventory.
  • Develop strategies to balance supply with demand, ensuring high availability of high-demand devices while reducing carrying costs.
  • Identify slow-moving or excess stock and work with commercial teams to develop strategies for clearance or redistribution.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve demand planning processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Implement best practices in demand planning and forecasting to drive better decision-making and business outcomes.
  • Leverage technology and automation to streamline demand planning activities and improve data accuracy
  • Identify potential risks to demand planning, such as supply chain disruptions, market volatility, or changes in customer behavior.
  • Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks and ensure continuity of supply.
  • Monitor global market conditions and industry trends to anticipate and address potential challenges.
  • Lead a team of highly qualified demand planners fostering culture of collaboration, simplicity, and result driven

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in demand planning, supply chain management, or analytics, preferably in the telecommunications or consumer electronics industry.
  • Proven experience in demand forecasting, inventory management, and data analysis.
  • Experience with new product launches and managing demand for high-tech devices is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in demand planning software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of the telecommunications industry and device lifecycle management is a plus.


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in data Analytics, Engineering, business administration or a related field. 
  • Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CSCP, CPIM) is a plus.
