About this Role

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to provide global IT integration, operational support, and deployment expertise within the Tools & Deployment Centre of Excellence. This role focuses on designing, delivering, and maintaining production‑ready DevOps platforms, with a strong emphasis on Kubernetes-based private cloud solutions that support applications used by multiple Vodafone markets worldwide. The individual will contribute to service reliability, continuous improvement, and the secure delivery of modern applications at scale.

What you’ll do

  • Integrate, implement, and operate DevOps tools and platforms across global environments.
  • Design, deploy, and support Kubernetes- and Docker-based solutions hosting multiple applications in private cloud environments.
  • Own migration activities and upgrades to new platform and application releases.
  • Maintain high service availability across application and server environments on UNIX and Windows platforms.
  • Manage incidents and service requests, ensuring resolution within agreed service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Prioritise and manage multiple open cases concurrently, balancing operational demand and customer impact.
  • Troubleshoot application, infrastructure, and database-related issues, applying structured problem-solving approaches.
  • Update technical documentation and contribute to team knowledge bases to support shared learning.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Apply ITIL-aligned service management practices and Vodafone operational standards.

Who you are

  • Experienced in DevOps tools, system integration, and modern deployment practices.
  • Proficient with Kubernetes, Docker, and containerised application platforms.
  • Knowledgeable in microservices architecture and messaging or streaming technologies such as Kafka.
  • Comfortable working with databases such as PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Cassandra, and similar technologies.
  • Skilled in at least one scripting or programming language such as Python, Ruby, or Go.
  • Familiar with UNIX/Linux administration and core infrastructure technologies, including DNS and proxy services.
  • Able to manage incidents, prioritise workloads, and maintain service quality under pressure.
  • A collaborative problem-solver with clear communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, data platforms such as Redshift, or ITIL practices is advantageous.
