Role Purpose
• Develop IP design solutions for CCE Networks following the input from Architecture and test the solutions in the CCE central LAB. This includes new features as well as Network Transformation design and testing
• Drive Network Harmonization by defining Standard Configuration Guidelines as a result of the testing executed in the LAB. These will be the baseline all IP Networks (Markets and Group) will re-use in the network specific design activity handled by the relevant departments.
• Develop SDN testing and test automation methodology, prepare LAB and execute SDN Testing (SDN functionalities and use cases).
• Design, dimension and configure the LAB cloud hosting environment in order to be able to onboard the virtualised Transport Network Applications (SDN controllers, TACACs, Virtualised Routers, Virtualised Fw, DDoS , etc.)
• Prepare the LAB and execute new Hw and Sw regression testing. This will be done partially manually but mostly over a Test Automation suite.
• Transform testing into Test Automation by defining Test Templates which describe test steps and results of additional test needed for new features. These will be the input for Scripters to generate the relevant Test Automation scripts. Review scripts and verify results of script runs for the given test cases.
• Maintain the needed test list by constantly interacting and discussing with other Engineering teams in CCE
• Manage and develop Central LABs ensuring LAB build covers all Hw/Sw needed by the Harmonised Hw/Sw development plan. Manage LAB installation of new Hw requested for Central Testing activity
• Introduce LAB Automation through external toold and/or in-house developed scripts to allow removal of most of the manual LAB config in support of planned test campaigns.
• Support PoC needed to certify new Hw/Sw or Network solutions
• Handle third parties eventually involved in LAB management and Installations
• Handle the relationship with the vendor to get full awareness of features/Hw and Sw characteristics associated with the development and test activity.
